Matt Damon's Fat-Gaining Diet for "The Informant"

Posted: August 16th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Matt DamonSubmit Comment
It's always difficult for actors to lose weight or put on muscle for movie roles, but getting fatter has always been something to look forward to.

Sylvester Stallone put on 40 lbs for "Cop Land" thanks to a steady diet of giant pancakes served at a local pancake house. And Russell Crowe added 63 lbs of fat to his frame for "Body of Lies" by eating cupcakes and cheeseburgers for breakfast.

Now, Matt Damon has revealed his diet that has helped him gain 30 lbs for his role in the upcoming Steven Soderbergh-directed "The Informant."

"I definitely got doughy. I started eating like crazy and drinking dark beer." he told Entertainment Weekly. "Between meals on set, I'd eat a No. 1 Value Meal at McDonald's and then Doritos on top of it. It was absolute heaven."

meh.

Patrick Wilson did the same thing for Watchmen, no biggie.

I really hate seeing Bourne go to waste in his middle age years.
Ranger writes:

Little known fact about fat cells... once you gain them, you can never get rid of them via diet or exercise. You can trim down again (with diet and exercise), thus depleting the fat cell stores, but they'll continue to remain like little time bombs awaiting that next doughnut or late night pizza.

You can have them sucked out of course, which I'm pretty positive Stallone had done after Copland, or DeNiro after The Untouchables... and soon, Damon will also.

So when you're fat and stupid like Space_Ghost... you'll more than likely remain stupid (the fat you can work off).

I bet he went all "Bourne" on those cheeseburgers.
Ranger writes:
on August 16th, 2009 at 7:51:22 PM

Better than he going all O.J. on them.

Oh... and sorry if anyone feels that was a racial slur towards people of African descent. It was not. Merely an attempt of a humorous reply to Skywalkers play on a character played by Matt Damon.

Thank you for your consideration.
minkowski writes:

Well, you're supposed to ALWAYS have fat cells, Ranger. It's necessary for proper insulation and muscular function. So i think always having SOMe fat is not only a good thing, but a necessary thing. But like they say about so much these days, too much fat is too much of a good thing.
Ranger writes:
on August 16th, 2009 at 8:09:30 PM

I agree. I should have been clearer. We all know there's good fat (fat that lines all the cells of the human body), and then there's bad fat that clogs blood flow to the brain making your a retarded whiner like Space_Ghost. I should have tough guy have a session with one of my workouts. He'd be puking blood within 15 minutes, and whining to somebody about it.
minkowski writes:
on August 16th, 2009 at 8:37:28 PM

You should share your workout sessions, Ranger. I'd like to hear. And what's the beef with Space_ghost? Some other neurotic obsessed idiot with a hankering for turmoil? Or, equally, just some bored young white male internet poster?
Ranger writes:
on August 16th, 2009 at 8:44:37 PM

It was his picking on you (Mink) on the Lohan thread (whereby I have just posted some career stats on that fine actress just moments ago).

But, let's leave personal stuff out of this and just comment on the topics at hand.

Re: Matt Damon. I like him. I feel he's a fine actor. I would comment about Good Will Hunting (the writing for which he won an Oscar), but it isn't relative to this topic. So I'll just leave it at I like Matt.

If the above post offended, I am sorry. Hugs!

i dont get the hype of this movie????? i thought the movie was ok. its plot wasnt the greatest. aliens land on earth and where is the us, nato, etc. the aliens seemed to be stronger and faster then humans but r contained by the south african govt. i really dont get why so many people love this movie. dont get me wrong it was better then gi joe but thats not saying much.
Ranger writes:

Are you on the right thread Tino?

I don't mean to offend or go off topic. I am just asking.

Thank you.

Ranger.

" i thought the movie was ok. its plot wasnt the greatest. aliens land on earth and where is the us, nato, etc. the aliens seemed to be stronger and faster then humans but r contained by the south african govt. i really dont get why so many people love this movie. "

That's pretty much it dude. But to answer your question, its a matter for psychology. People hve to have a god, something to worship. With the decline of tradional religion and the rise of vapid popular culture, people STILL must have something to worship, admire suck up to. ike the way people follow celebrities or they tour with a rock band. Or they worship some film like D9 that's good and what not, but not the arrival of the four horsmen of the apocalypse good. Get me? When you insult what they worship, whatever fluff of pop culture detritus they're currently fixating on, they feel as if you've insulted THEM. They take your comments as an insult to who THEY ARE because they've warpped part of their reason for existing up into whatever they're currently obsessed on. Son't talk sh*t about GIJOE or D9 or Lost or Brad Pitt or catie Kpourics hairstyle. whatever. Smot people are SMALL. They live in a world where they see themselves as little to nothing, even though they try to impress eveerybody with their tan and looks and clothing styles. But in reality they feel like sh*t, so they have to identify with something LARGER then eho they are in order to cope with the fact they are just another person on the street.

So when you insult whatver it is they've placed on the altar of ther ego, it's a horrid affront to their worth, identity and self-esteem. I backed off commenting on D9 just because I refuse to deal with the obsessed crazed fans right now. I did that enough with GIJOE.

It's good to have no master, no god to answer to.
minkowski writes:
on August 16th, 2009 at 8:56:41 PM

"Are you on the right thread Tino?"

He thinks he's on the D9 thread above, I think. Works for me because I don't care to confront the nutty-fan repercussions from my comment.

"It was his picking on you (Mink) on the Lohan thread (whereby I have just posted some career stats on that fine actress just moments ago). "

Oh. Well, nobody picks on me. Especially not some poster named 'space ghost'.

STICK TO TOPIC MINK OR YOU WILL BE BANNNNNNEEDDD!!!
minkowski writes:
on August 16th, 2009 at 9:20:03 PM

Well, ranger I'm not too good about clicking my heels, goosestepping around. I'm more the run amok type. And I ALREADY commented on Damon's new look. His fatness is OLD news. I saw this MONTHS ago. But Wp has to have something to post, right? Can't let AICN have more of the attention.

Anyway, ban me for speaking my mind. Like they don't have proxy servers or libraries. Like I can't change my nick and my ISP.

So back on topic: yeah, damon's looking like a fat Jeffrey Dahmer. I hope it's worth it for him. He needs to get back to the Bourne franchise. Get Doug Limon back and make a better Bourne film. Like Supremacy was all that great. Or Ultimatum was nearly as good as Identity.
minkowski writes:
on August 16th, 2009 at 9:21:41 PM

Damon needs to do a fourth Bourne film, where his character fially finds Christ and accepts Jesus and repents for all that bass killing he did. Call it 'Bourne Again'.
Ranger writes:

I liked the Borne series very much.

But cannibals offend me.

Ranger writes:

For clarity (to any lurking whiners spending their Sunday writing to Alex), the 2 sentences in my post above are unrelated to each other (that's why they are separate).

The first was responding to Mink's comment about Matt Damon's (still on topic here) Jason Borne series.

The 2nd was a reply to Mink's reference to Jeffrey Dahmer (a known and convicted cannibal).

Thank you for reading.

I like Bourne too. Happy times are good.
Ranger writes:

@Mink - '...I can't change my nick and my ISP?'

Yeah, I was kind of wondering that one myself. Unless 'they' think we value this one account and don't want to lose our 'Survey stats' and past movie reviews.

lol.

Back on topic. I sure hope Matt can lose all this weight he's gaining.

minkowski writes:
on August 16th, 2009 at 9:42:19 PM

Depends on his metabolism. he's getting older, so it usually slows down after a while. He'll have a harder time than a younger guy I think. I really wish he'd put on another shirt. One that closes.

And I don't mean to offend anyone with a slower metabolism. Please forgive me.

Ranger writes:

Well Ari, when some face people in life that are as indulging as their parents... they have a tantrum and run to Alex.

I call them pussies. But, whatever.

What they haven't learned here by WP succ*mbing to peer pressure and imposing censorship, the world will fill that role nicely.

Back on topic. Matt Damon has a beautiful family in real life.

Ranger writes:

Space_Ghost11 writes:

whatever works, just shows that some are committed to what they do. I think the film looks great -very Coen Bros. style - I know a perfect role for Lindey Lohan, a rug munching cokehead. To save time & money just give her a video camera and it'll make itself. (Mink that joke was for you sir if you care)
