Magnet Releasing has unveiled the new trailer for the upcoming "Ong Bak 2: The Beginning," which is directed by and starring Tony Jaa. Check it out below.

In this sequel, which has nothing to do with the original, Jaa stars in a period piece as a poor orphan boy raised by a collection of martial arts masters from across Asia and ends up an expert in all, fusing the styles into a comprehensive fighting style.

The new movie will be available on VOD, Xbox Live and Amazon on September 25th. It will then be released in theaters on October 23rd, in limited release.

I can't believe Tony Jaa has not earned enough respect in Hollywood to get major American distribution. He's the new Jackie Chan and we still have to bust out the bloodhounds to find a theater showing his movies.

YESSSSS

I'm seeing this movie only because it has a '2' in the title!

@SAC - the racial bigotry (Bruce Lee) style continues from our friends in Hollywood my friend.

Screw their Distribution. I'll go around them and just buy this DVD when it comes out.

My 1st. comment wasn't saying Bruce Lee was bigoted. I was saying Hollywood was towards him.

"In this sequel, which has nothing to do with the original.."

Then it's not a sequel, IS IT?! Sheesh.

the thing is about this movie is that the story makes no sense what so ever; it never explains the relation between the two movies. on top of that, ong bak 2 ending leaves it ambiguous for another movie...

Have you ever watched a martial arts movie with a story that did make sense, my friend?

Tony Jaa is something else. perhaps its aprequel, to the original. Maybe the characte he is playing is his great grand father or something. Regardless, Jaa is a brillaint performer, yeah the story line in the protector was very lame compared to Ong Bak1 but still, really looking forward to this.. Just wondering how long will itbe until tarantino will try to either get him to work with him which would be bad ass or he will rip ong bak off later on...

Good post LW. Yep... Jaa is an original alright!

Have you guys seen the movie Chocolate. The female lead is an extremely gifted martial artist.

Looks more like the protector, then Ong Bak. Am I thinking of the right movie, where someone steals his elephant and he goes ape sh*t, who wouldn't...
