Larry David on "Seinfeld" Reunion Details

Larry David on "Seinfeld" Reunion DetailsSubmit Comment
We previously told you that the "Seinfeld" cast will reunite on Larry David's HBO show "Curb Your Enthusiasm." And now, David has revealed that the reunion will be part of a five-episode story arc that will show the cast making a new episode of "Seinfeld."

"We're going to see writing. We'll see aspects of the read-through, parts of rehearsals," he explained. "You'll see the show being filmed, and you'll see it on TV. You won't see the entire show. You'll see parts of the show. You'll get an idea of what happened 11 years later. It will be incorporated into regular 'Curb' episodes, so the cast members will be playing themselves on 'Curb' while all of this is going on."

He continued: "The reunion is scattered through the season, and I think the cast will be on five shows. All four [cast members] won't be on all five shows. Jerry is on five shows; the others will be on at least four. The season finale will be about the reunion show."

Jerry Seinfeld, Michael Richards (Kramer), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine) and Jason Alexander (George) will join other show favorites such as Newman (Wayne Knight), Bania (Steve Hytner) and George's mom (Estelle Harris) for the seventh season of "Curb," which is set to air in September.

The non-reunion episodes include scenes filmed in Jerry's apartment and Monk's cafe and feature classic Seinfeldian moments such as Jerry and George debating whether it's all right to blow one's nose in a cloth restaurant napkin.

"There is regular "Curb" stuff in these shows as well," David added. "The 'Seinfeld' cast plays themselves offstage involved in regular 'Curb' stories. I have got issues with them about other things."

I love Curb, simply because David does not need the money and does it for the art of comedy. That is what makes the show, doing something the man truly loves and sharing it with people.

I'm drooling. My mind is blown by all the layers of meta-narrative: A show about the cast of Seinfeld making an episode of Seinfeld in a show about the creator of Seinfeld. I love it.

You know I haven't seen Curb yet, and I've always like David's material, but I will get to watch it though, and this news about Seinfeld with their original cast and according to David have the cast reprise their roles since the show left off 11 years ago... WOOTS!!! That will be a great finish for the season... I wonder... will this reunion spark maybe a movie or a NBC special 2-hour return of Seinfeld???? One can only hope...

@ Ninja Bear.....ya...they better not ever do that. thats the biggest sell out move. maybe if you watched Curb you would get your seinfeld fix.
