"Chronicles of Narnia 3" is Now FilmingSubmit Comment
"The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," the third in the series of films based on the bestselling books by CS Lewis, began principal photography on location in Queensland, Australia, on Monday, July 27th. Filming will conclude in November 2009, with a year-long post-production schedule leading to the film's global release in December 2010.

This time around Edmund and Lucy Pevensie, along with their pesky cousin Eustace Scrubb find themselves swallowed into a painting and on to a fantastic Narnian ship headed for the very edges of the world.

Joining forces once again with their royal friend Prince Caspian and the warrior mouse Reepicheep, they are whisked away on a mysterious mission to the Lone Islands, and beyond. On this bewitching voyage that will test their hearts and spirits, the trio will face magical Dufflepuds, sinister slave traders, roaring dragons and enchanted merfolk. Only an entirely uncharted journey to Aslan's Country a voyage of destiny and transformation for each of those aboard the Dawn Treader can save Narnia, and all the astonishing creatures in it, from an unfathomable fate.

Michael Apted (The World Is Not Enough, Gorillas in the Mist, Coal Miner's Daughter) is directing the new movie. Returning as the Pevensie children are Georgie Henley as Lucy and Skandar Keynes as Edmund. Ben Barnes (Easy Virtue, Dorian Gray) reprises the role of Caspian.

Please, please, make this a hit. I'd like to see and own all seven films but at the rate they're going, it's never going to happen. :(

I hope they do a good Job on this and stay true to the story and I also hope it's big enough for "Silver Chair to be made. and all the rest.

we're forgetting something here...isn't 20th century fox filming this movie?...i wouldn't put faith in them

Yes Fox is in charge from here on out. But Disney gave up on it so it's either take a chance on this or it doesn't get filmed. And how would they be able to do a seventh book without pissing of the Muslims?

Dont think they'll make all the movies. They might just stop with this one.

Hate to say it, but I think this might be the last movie in the series! Wish they could get it together and pump out the whole series. Bummer.

Man...I was really worried that this series bottomed out. See how that works people- as soon as you think its dead and there's no hope- they announce a sequel. Remember that Superman fans.

will suck. i love narnia.. hated caspian. that movie was terrible.
and lion witch and the wardrobe only had three good scenes and the rest was painful.

they are not spending that much time filming it if its supposed to conclude in Nov.09 ...

well seeing as though fox is taking over its sure to suck

Not necessarily- TLTWATW set the stage, the genre, and the mood for the series- Caspian went AWOL and anyone with half a mind could see that sticking to the books and the original plot sells these movies. People don't want to see the original series improved- they want to see the orginal story. AND I CAN"T WAIT for the Silver Chair to be made- I love that one. Heh, I even liked the BBC version of it...

Don't forget Mr. Jones- Temple of Doom stunk- Crusade came back and topped of the series...
