"King Kong" Prequel in DevelopmentPosted: July 27th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Spirit Pictures have picked up the rights to the book "Kong: King of Skull Island," a prequel to the well-known tale of King Kong. The book was published at the same time Peter Jackson was producing his remake of "King Kong."
Penned by Joe DeVito and Brad Strickland, book focuses on the back story of Skull Island and how the giant gorilla became king there. It introduces other giant gorillas and dinosaurs only hinted at in the previous films.
The plan is to produce the film using motion-capture technology such as Robert Zemeckis used to make "The Polar Express," "Beowulf" and the upcoming "A Christmas Carol." Spirit's own facility would produce the CG work.

I beg to differ. I would love to see some more CGI adult-oriented films. Beowulf sucked ass because of the weak script.

wtf??...a prequel??....hahaha...once again...this proves how desperate hollywood is....they feel the MUST have an 'after' and a 'before' to EVERY single story out there....even if it doesn't work...they make up some bullsh*t story to make it work

Hey... maybe Kong really started out as the baby talking monkey at the end of one of those Planet of the Apes movies. Then... Retardo Mentalblock found the time displacement equipment (Terminator 1984) - goes back in time with the baby talking ape, takes him to that tropical island... he gets a hole of GiantMan's technology... and viola... MOVIE HISTORY FOLKS!
HOLLYWOOD... YOU SUCK FARTS OUT OF DEAD COWS!!!!

Nobody gives a flying f*ck about where King Kong came from, they just want to see him throw sh*t around and kill people after he's been captured so it's justified!
And Mink, that's for sure! The new clone wars series is George Lucas masturbating in public!

Wow Ted, you're an idiot.
Also motion-capture almost always turns out looking like sh*t anyway.

@Ted - I'm NOT picking on your opinion... I respect it. But I liked the 'look' Beowulf had. I like different stuff like that anyway. So, I didn't mind it.

this obviously won't be anything near peter jackson's...but even so...doesn't matter if it came from a book or not...people get offended just by the words 'prequel' 'remake' 'retelling' 'reimagining' 'reboot' etc.
