Javier Bardem Drops Out of "Wall Street" Sequel

Javier Bardem Drops Out of "Wall Street" SequelSubmit Comment
It was recently revealed that Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men) would play the villain in the upcoming "Wall Street" sequel, starring Michael Douglas and Shia LaBeouf, and directed by Oliver Stone.

Now, according to Forbes magazine, Javier is forced to back out of the deal due to scheduling conflicts and other offers. No word on who will replace the actor.

Plot: It's 21 years later and Gordon Gekko (Douglas) has finished serving his prison sentence. He finds himself on the fringe of the financial community and is cautioning Wall Street that the "end is coming" -- but nobody is listening. So Gordon becomes obsessed with trying to repair his ruptured relationship with his daughter.

LaBeouf is a young Wall Street trader who's engaged to be married to Gekko's estranged daughter. He wants to be a major player, but his mentor unexpectedly kills himself, and he thinks a villainous stock-shorting worldwide hedge fund manager (Bardem) is responsible. So LaBeouf goes to Gordon saying, "I need your help", and makes a deal with Gekko who in return wants LaBeouf's help getting back with the daughter.

I liked the first movie a LOT! I really, REALLY wish they'd stick to business, revenge and all that good stuff in this one. The puppy dog sh*t of Gekko trying to get back onto talking terms with his daughter is the very sh*t that will have me wait for this on DVD.

Apparently, Bardem's intelligence is as remarkable as his acting.

The deal breaker came when Oliver Stone denied his request to shoot LaBeouf in the face with a cattle gun during the big finale.

What... d*ck Cheney backed out of this project too?

all that's left is for mr. douglas himself to drop out of it...it's either that or change the storyline and cut shia out of it

and no offense to shia...but stop trying to be part of the iconic legends that once graced us!...do some of your own sh*t
Ranger writes:

Or change the storyline and just cut Shia (seriously... with something sharp!)

He watched Shia's performances(starting with Even Stevens), that was all it took.

synthetic1985 writes:

@ lost_addict....i'll tell you who wanted to be shia's sidekick....the roommate guy in transformers 2
Ranger writes:

Shia's sidekick? Why... Gary Coleman of course. Wac'cho talkn' 'bout Gekko?!
minkowski writes:

A sidekick to a sidekick? Isn't that usually the f*cking dog? So if the sidekick is actually the lead. . . oh f*ck it. It's a Stone movie starring Shia. Like I give a sh*t.

'A sidekick to a sidekick? Isn't that usually the f*cking dog?' --- ergo GARY COLEMAN!!!!
Ranger writes:

Gary... go fetch that stick!

GARY!

Pay attention... THE STICK!!!!
minkowski writes:

At his height, you might have to spell 'stick', so as to avoid Coleman confusing a stick with another long pointed object that often times ends up in his mouth.

Sure does give new meaning to the word 'boner'.

Wat''cho...blurb...glub...glub...talkn'... slurp... bou...t....
minkowski writes:

So, when Coleman gives a blowjob, I mean, is he still human or does he become a 'sex toy'?
minkowski writes:

He could always say, between sucking d*ck, What'cha Talking about Willie?

bummer. i was actually expecting something decent. we live in terrible and dark times for movie making. everybody seem to be doing crap and more crap...and now i find out that shia is going to be in this?!!!! and that plot sounds more like a bad john grisham paperback. young brat discovers something fishy and ends up triumphant and with the girl. duh gordon gekko sounds soooo supporting. he should be the lead.
Silly Wabbit writes:

the writer who actually kills off shia is going to be a hero.
Ranger writes:
on July 23rd, 2009 at 11:15:19 PM

Speaking of which. What is O.J. up to these days? You're right SW. This sequel's story has none of the magic the first one did... none. Gekko should be the lead by far... our for revenge, his hunger to be on top... all the greater. This daughter and Shia sh*t is a mystery. I think as Spielberg and Lucas have lost some of their hunger, apparently so has Stone... and that's a shame.
synthetic1985 writes:

still....there is some good movies out there...just not as much
c-prime writes:

If that's true, Silly Wabbit, then let me be the first to bestow gold medals upon writers Kevin Brodin and Frank Capello for so kindly taking him the hell out at the end of the film "Constantine". Give these valiant scribes a round of applause, folks. Hell, give 'em a Nobel Prize in Literature to boot.

Ranger writes:

Yep. And if this toilet of a story isn't already enough to completely crush my image of the first, fantastic installment... sh*t LaDouche is here to wipe his hiney all over the remainder! Stone... stick a fork in yourself... you're done!
