Another Action-Packed "GI Joe" ClipSubmit Comment
We previously saw a clip of Snake Eyes chasing down the bad guys, and today we have another clip that shows the rest of the action going on in that scene. Check it out below.

Plot: From the Egyptian desert to deep below the polar ice caps, the elite G.I. JOE team uses the latest in next-generation spy and military equipment to fight the corrupt arms dealer Destro and the growing threat of the mysterious Cobra organization to prevent them from plunging the world into chaos.

The new movie is directed by Stephen Sommers (The Mummy, Van Helsing) and is currently scheduled to hit theaters on August 7th.

So many things wrong with this.

The silly suits. God, what a sh*tty plot device.

He didn't hear or see the Hummer?

The goofy acting Baroness.

Cars, hit on their sides, traveling straight, don't flip entirely to their sides. They flip somewhere between straight ahead and to the side.

Matrix-sounding music.

Total lack of damage to the Hummer.

The bad-acting Asian.

The bad, really bad acting black Australian. Or is he supposed to be British? Sounds Aussie.

The scary mouth on Snake Eyes.

The train that flies through heavy residential streets without warnings, lights or guards.

Again, the Hummer wouldn't flip straight ahead. It was hit at an angle that adds a component to the trajectory. Simple physics. Basic sh*t.

Train doesn't derail. It isn't even apparently damaged.

Vehicle somehow flips a mile into the air.

Explosion from in front of the crashing Hummer.

Rolling Hummer somehow carries with it a car that wasn't there a second before.

Wayans style humor: Coming through!

Wayans flies through a very fast moving train's outer window. Smashes through one window, yet somehow manages to not hit the wall that's moving perpendicular to his line of flight. The wall could've, should've caught up to him very quickly.

Suits must be VERY well padded. Those forces would still have a huge impact on the jostling of brains and internal organs.

What if they landed on their faces?

I'd like to know what GI joe cartoon all these critics watched. Seriously, that show was full of corniness, crazy explosions that never killed anyone, impossible scenarios, and goofy characters.

So it seems to me that the movie is staying pretty accurate.

Yeah, this live-action million dollar film got the cartoon part right, it just totally misses what made the cartoon an endearing hit of nostalgia to millions of adults today.

OK the first clip was all bad ass and Snake eyes looked good; then I saw that mouth in this clip and I'm not sure why they did that!!! Nervous about this film on so many levels!

Great breakdown, minkowski and I do agree with you on everything you pointed out, especially the parts relating to simple physics.

Wow!!! I can't believe you guys are bashing G.I. Joe so hard. I agree with takai it's not meant to be serious, it's G.I.Joe. It doesn't look that bad. After all it is a summer movie. I'm pretty sure it can't be as bad as Dragonball or the Streetfighter that just came out.
takai writes:

Yeah exactly. It's supposed to be over the top, goofy, and unrealistic. Just like the show. It's just that, like it is with all of the nostalgic tv shows and movies, when they were made, they weren't TRYING to be like that, that's just what the end result was. So when they are being re-made/re-booted/whatever, they're trying to replicate those elements.

You guys just need to take this movie with a grain of salt. Did you really think this was going to be really good?

Don't get me wrong...I grew up on G.I.JOE, but I also didn't except much out of this movie. It's a "Popcorn Movie"...that's it!
Just try to remember when you were a kid playing with G.I.Joe's and how cool it would have been to have seen this movie when you were at that age.
