LeVar Burton and Tony Leung Injured

LeVar Burton and Tony Leung InjuredSubmit Comment
We have two separate accidents to report, which involved actor LeVar Burton ("Star Trek: The Next Generation," "Reading Rainbow") and actor Tony Leung (Red Cliff, My Blueberry Nights).

LeVar Burton: Los Angeles police say that Burton was involved in a five-car accident but wasn't seriously injured. Detective Judy Acosta said that his 2006 Mercedes was on Beverly Boulevard in West Los Angeles at about 7:40pm Monday when a 74-year-old woman in a 2006 Scion turned left in front of him.

Acosta says the cars collided. Burton's vehicle then hit a parked car, leading to a chain reaction that damaged two other parked cars. Both drivers complained of pain, then were examined at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and released.

Tony Leung: Leung broke his left arm while sparring with martial arts instructors as he prepared to portray Bruce Lee's kung fu master in a Wong Kar-wai movie. One of the kung fu instructors kicked Leung during a practice session on Monday, breaking a bone in his left forearm. Leung must rest his arm for several weeks but can continue to train on his kicks.

Wong's movie about Ip Man, who trained Lee for five years when he was a teenager, was tentatively scheduled to start shooting in September but might be delayed depending on Leung's recovery.

if it were two white celebs getting injured you'd probably have two separate stories

low quality but it made me remember this.

What are you saying? That WP is racist? WTF ever. Shut the f*ck up. Burton and Leung aren't special enough to get separate stories. You act like Freeman was in a plane crash and Jackson fell off a building and Wp combined their accidents into one story.

Idiots like you keep racism alive.

Who are talking to?

Broke his arm sparring? That guy either has a really feeble arm or that's some kick-ass sparring going on!
minkowski writes:

Probably a metacarpal. They break fairly easily. Or maybe he punched Fifty Cent in the mouth.
Ranger writes:

Or JayeLesS - he's got a pretty big, tough mouth.
Ranger writes:

I don't know Mink... they're saying 'arm'... that's some Matrix-esque sparring going on in that gym.
minkowski writes:
on July 14th, 2009 at 8:54:12 PM

Well, I've always considered the metacarpals part of the arm, not the hand. I'm not sure which is correct.

Ok, I just looked it up. Part of the hand. Learn something new everyday.

And ur right, he really must have glass for bones. Not really sure he's up to this Bruce Lee stuff.
Ranger writes:

I think only Bruce Lee was up for Bruce Lee stuff. But at least we get to watch Jet Li and Tony Jaa.
griffinkane writes:

It would've been ironic if LeVar Burton went blind.
minkowski writes:

^LMFAO. And I feel ashamed for doing so...

Yeah, nobody does Lee like Lee did. Would make a good quote on a T-shirt. "Nobody Does Lee Like Lee Did". Anyway, this Leung guy, how does he break his arm? The instructor hit him too hard? Jesus, either the guy needs more milk, or the instructor is a real hard ass.
minkowski writes:

Not a big fan of Li. He was enjoyable in Unleashed, but his range is so narrow and shallow, I just can't get a grip on his roles as more than comic book character acting.
Donald Kaufman writes:

Tony Leung is a phenomenal actor, he's certainly no p*ssy. Check out Ang Lee's "Lust, Caution", the guy spends like half the movie fu*#ing... that takes great strength and endurance. And Wong Kar-Wai is a god. This movie will be gold.

Was Leung distracted by Burton's crash outside..? I thought at first the car crashed into him...
