Danny Huston is King Richard in "Robin Hood"Submit Comment
Danny Huston is joining the cast of Universal Pictures' "Robin Hood" movie, which Ridley Scott is now directing in England.

Russell Crowe plays the legendary folk hero in the latest retelling of the Robin Hood myth being written by Ethan Reiff, Cyrus Voris and Brian Helgeland.

Huston will step into the shoes of the historical figure King Richard, who became known as Richard the Lionheart because of his exploits in the Third Crusade.

Huston appeared this summer on the big screen in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," playing Wolverine's nemesis William Stryker, and recently finished work on "Clash of the Titans," in which he plays Poseidon.

They should of forced Sean Connery to reprise his role. Whether by force, or by bribery. He was one of the only good things about the Prince of thieves.

Sean Connery was in Prince of Thieves? It has been forever since I have seen it, you sure you aren't thinking of First Knight?

Yes Im sure, he had a three minute cameo at the end of the movie during the wedding. First Knight was a piece of sh*t movie.

YUP Connery appears right at the wedding of Robin and Marion and gives her away- credits roll to Bryan Adams. You should rewatch that one since now they have the directors cut which adds some awesome new scenes....First Knight was good though, dont be hatin'. There's a badass villain, great battle scenes, and bloodletting that must have pushed the PG13 bar. Its a little tooooo melodramy the last 20 minutes (Connery was never good at crying), but then a battle starts and Gere kicks ass. I love the casting in films with directors such as this one: it always means even the smallest roles are played by talented character actors.

Maybe Patrick Stewart could reprise his role as King Richard from Robin Hood : Men in Tights!!

You know what? Thats not a bad idea...Patrick Stewart is an amazing actor and it pisses me off he's not in great epic films like this. Why must the best actor in the Star Trek universe be forced to self parody himself in the mainstream while only getting serious roles in stage plays? He was never an Adam West or a Shatner and it's sad he's being type cast that way to get a pay cheque.

Richard has been a very interesting and historical hero, and has been played numerous times. Iain Glen (Resident Evil 3, Tomb Raider) had a brief cameo as Richard in the movie Kingdom Of Heaven at the end, check it out!!

if they go with a gladiator type of filming way then this will be good

Oh Prince of Thieves.......love love love the unintentional comedies!!!!!! I have to see that again. Why doesn't Target have a four pack of Costner movies for $10 yet?
