"Wolfman" Re-Shoots Change the Look of CreaturePosted: July 10th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
About a year ago we reported that the upcoming "Wolfman" movie will be doing some extensive re-shoots, which caused Universal Pictures to push the release date back by seven month.
Now, according to The Daily Mail, the re-shoots took place to not only add more action but also because the idea of how the creature should look changed.
The old wolfman walked on its hind legs like a human, but now, he'll walk like a wolf, on all fours. One actor commented on the previous version: "The Wolf was on its heels and it looked daft."
The re-shoots took six weeks and also involved a scene showing a confrontation between the Wolfman and a Werewolf. The paper's source said that the action is now dramatic and exciting.

I thought the two legged wolfman was way scarier.

I have high hopes for this movie. I like that they took the time to fix what they thought would help the movie. Apparently there were problems and they made a hell of a trailer out of a film with a lot of problems, so I can't wait to see the film itself.

I had such high hopes for this film, then the studio had to do these re-shoots adding more "action". I will still see it but the postponements have really hurt my enthusiasm.

So they actually made a whole movie where the action was not dramatic and exciting? And only now that they've reshot it is it so? How long before they realized their horror/action movie needed to be dramatic and exciting?

Yeah the Wolfman and Werewolf confrontation is a little odd. It must be like the Underworld movies with Lycans and Williams kind.

Ummmm They ARE IDENTICAL...but only one of them has been given a name. Wolfman IS a werewolf, so it's probably just a battle between two of the same creatures- one essentially good while the other is bad. Its a Joe Dante movie- it isnt going to complicated in the least.

Werewolves are a CLASS of creatures, whereas Wolfman is a specific individual from that class.

I always thought the creature looked a little funny in the trailer. He ran like he had a bad case of blue balls. The change sounds a little better but laate reshoots are never a good sign. Too bad, it had a great cast. Del Toro barely needs makeup to pull this off.

Im glad they chose the four legs- I know it would make total sense to have him upright (otherwise how would he get the Wolf'MAN' if he had no human characteristics)...but I saw the ComicCon footage and it looked like a Troma film the way the guy in the suit moved hahaha the suit really DID look fantastically retarded on every level except face closeups.
