Will Smith to Re-Unite with "I Am Legend" DirectorPosted: July 9th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
THR is reporting that Will Smith may re-unite with his "I Am Legend" director Francis Lawrence for a fantastical drama titled "The City That Sailed" that will once again take place in Manhattan.
The story follows a New York City street magician whose daughter, because of family circumstances, lives in England. In exploring a lighthouse one day, the girl discovers a room with magic candles and wishes to be reunited with her father, causing the island of Manhattan to break away and drift across the Pond.
The new movie is written by Andrew Niccol (Gattaca, Lord of War). There are currently no deals made for either Lawrence or Smith.

Had no interest until that last bit about Niccol writing it. He also wrote The Truman Show, so he's pretty great. Too bad Lawrence is directing.

Agree. Lawrence has already ruined two films with possibilities to have been more interesting. This story, with Niccol writing and Smith starring deserves a chance

Apparently one should be a little more specific as to what one wishes for in that lighthouse. Like... to see my daddy again VIA AIRPLANE!!!!

Sounds more like a sequel to I Am Legend...Didn't those vampires trash the city and own some candles?

Eddie Murphy although heading down the Steve Guttenburg road now- but he had a good run...Cuba never stopped crying long enough in any movie to make it to the next....

thomas deadison actually hit it on the head- Truman Show although loosely based on a Twilight Zone episode in 1986- was written almost perfect!
