"MacGruber" Movie Begins Filming in August Posted: July 7th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Back in May it was announced that Lorne Michaels and the people from "SNL" are working on turning the "MacGyver" spoof skit, called "MacGruber," into a movie. Now, ProductionWeekly is reporting that Jorma Taccone has been hired to direct the new project, which will begin filming next month in New Mexico. In the popular skit, Will Forte is always seconds from disarming a bomb, but gets sucked into idle chatter or an argument while his friends yell at him to focus on the bomb. Most of the shorts were written by Taccone, Forte and John Solomon. Outside of writing the shorts with Forte and John Solomon, Taccone also created the MacGruber character and is the man behind the camera. So it only makes sense that he would be given a chance to direct the feature film.

Funny? Um, no. Kind of an insult to MacGyver. Shia again? God, I'm getting sick of this guy. It wasn't funny the first time they said MacGruber, and it wasn't funny the fiftieth. God SNL sucks ass.
Btw, MacGyver was a liberal, not a fundamentalist Christian.

I would much rather see a MacGyver movie than this MacGarbage.

True. MacGyver was kinda 'gay', I guess, but it was still a fun show that could get channeled into a decent flick.
Expect Channing tatum to pick up where Richard Dean Anderson left off.
It's like an unwritten film that every film nowadays has to have a mentally challenged teen-brained twenty year old lead actor.

rule, not film.

a whole movie, Y? They should do a 30 minute web movie and leave it at that. I mean the skit is at best chuckle-funny. SNL has way funnier skits than that. Will FOrte had to give someone a BJ to get that thing green-lit. I'm sorry.

I love macgruber when its a 30 second skit. its funny as hell. Im not sure about a movie. It better be creative.

Well... we all know how this could go. Tommy Boy... funny. Black Sheep sucked so many dead farts from as many dead cows. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground. This could be A Night at the Roxbury... or it would be Beverly Hills Ninja. No telling really.

This is gonna suck. I bet it will be like that crappy Pat movie SNL made years back, just bottom of the barrel comedy.

I remember the Pat character. Yeah... that movie would suck.
