He's now a hack actor. I mean, is Bay to say he made Sean Connery a success? I mean, Cage was in literally twenty films before the Rock! Affleck was in ten, and not all of them sucked. Smith and Lawrence were already popular. It's called TV, it's called IMDb Micheal Bay.
And is he REALLY taking credit for Megan Fox? That's one of his 'successes'?
Yeah, he makes big stars "bigger", but only by burning their names into our collective consciousness at the same temperature an atom splits. I mean, if Bay blew up the moon, we'd all remember him for that, and we'd hate him still. He has a habit of making people famous in a negative way.

i would actually kinda agree with him, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence weren't cast into any big budgets movies before this, true they did have TV shows, and a rap career (Smith) and Stand up comdey career (Lawrence) but none of them were big budgets stars. Ben Affleck, well I would say Good Will Hunting did it for him, but also no big budget movies. Finally Cage, he did do Leaving Las Vegas before The Rock but once again no real big budget movies and The Rock did make him somewhat of an action star. Even Pearl Harbor would have been considered a great film it hadn't been insensitively over-glorified in the final act of the movie.

I bet no one in here could give me a single reason why you hate Michael Bay other than the fact that he uses a lot of explosions! You clearly overlook the fact that many of his films ARE in fact driven by emotion and character elements. The Rock (Nick Cage and Sean Connery's relationship and how Connery really is a good man who has been wrongfully imprisoned/Sean Connery and his daughter's relationship) The Island (McGregor's and Johanson's characters fight for survival.....hell that whole movie is about human emotion within clones) Armageddon (Ben Affleck's goal to get home to his fiancee/Bruce Willis's love for his daughter and his sacrifice for her)
I mean come on people the list goes on and on, you just choose to look past those "human" elements of his films and rag on him for his over use of special effects!
So in all, yes Michael Bay may very well be a slightly arrogant, cocky director who thinks highly of himself (which is unfortunate) but as an artist the guy has talent. His visual style and use of the camera work is stunning and rivals the best in the buisness! And his movies, except for Transformer 2, are entertaining and a flat out fun experience.
If you want to judge a director for his lack of ability, you should judge directors like Uwe Boll. Directors like him are the true hacks of the industry and deserve your criticism a lot more than people like Michael Bay.

Everybody has an anger and hate on Megan Fox, but she's somehow right; what Michael Bay directs is not an ordinary movie, based on the highly visual effects and blue screens etc., it's not like being in a movie such as 'Little Miss Sunshine' or 'Seven Pounds' where you can have a guesswork about what's going on in the scenes. As shooting a movie is a schizophrenic work, and shooting a movie with mostly visual effects is even more confusing, Fox is quite right about what she says. The point is that, how she verbally says and how it is taken by Bay is wrong, and he's aware of that his Transformers 2 movie is not a drama where you can know the relationships between scenes.
