Denzel Washington's "Unstoppable" May Not Happen

"The Taking of Pelham 123" remake, starring Denzel Washington and directed by Tony Scott, was made for $100 million, but has only been able to bring half of that from domestic theaters.

And now that Scott and Washington are planning another trailer movie called "Unstoppable," it comes as no surprise that 20th Century Fox has halted production until the budget is lowered.

At this point, neither Washington's or Scott's deal has been made, but Washington is known to earn as much as $20 million per film. So with high salaries and the failure of "Pelham 123," one can't imagine that this film will ever get off the ground.

In "Unstoppable," Washington would have played an experienced engineer who jumps in a locomotive with a young conductor to chase down a runaway train carrying a cargo of toxic chemicals.

I saw Pelham 123 and I'm cant figure out where they spent $100mill. They stopped a train in a subway tunnel and shot a movie there. That's it! How f*ckin much did they pay Denzel to gain 50 lbs and for Travolta to save his head?

So this movie was stopped? C'mon...no one else saw that pun?

@SACdaddy - I haven't seen it... yet. But Washington, Travolta and the Director... there's 50% of the budget. A good caterer, $10 hr. for the extras, location shooting, hookers, etc. and there you go.
