"Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" Video Game Being Adapted

Posted: June 26th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
"Uncharted: DrakeSubmit Comment
Writer Kyle Ward is already working on the "Hitman" sequel and THR is now reporting that he has also signed on to adapt the action/adventure video game "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" for the big screen.

The story follows a descendant of explorer Sir Francis Drake, a treasure hunter named Nate Drake who believes he has learned the whereabouts of El Dorado, the fabled South American golden city, from a cursed golden statue. The search becomes competitive when a rival hunter joins the fray, then is ratcheted up several notches when creatures -- actually mutated descendants of Spaniards and Nazis -- begin attacking those hoping to learn the treasure's true secrets.

The game, from Sony Computer Entertainment, sold 1 million copies in the first 10 weeks of its release at the end of 2007.

In addition to these two video game adaptations, Ward has also previously adapted the "Kane & Lynch" video game for Lionsgate that has Bruce Willis currently attached to star.

Haha, Borat. You make me laugh. There has been a Gears movie going on for some time. Les Wiseman is going to direct it with Stuart Beattie writing the script. Have fun with you epic PS3 exclusives such as Lair and Haze!

I have to pick this up before the second one comes out. Oh and I don't know how people like Killzone 2 so much. I tried playing that for two weeks to see if I could get into it and I went right back to COD 4 on the 360.

The Kane & Lynch movie should be good with Willis.

Decent game to adapt (already pretty cinematic) but the biggest problem with the game was that every time you walked into an area with a lot of cover, you knew you were headed for a fight. It got annoying IMHO.

The real problem is finding a charismatic guy like Nathan.
@vwkombi- Lair and Haze, seriously? I bet you cry like a baby when you see some god of war III gameplay. THAT'S epic, peace.

The only one that kicks serious ass is God of War 3. The rest are only good,(not great). Xbox still has far better exclusives and better online.

@ coldplayesence
It's called sarcasm mate, Lair and Haze are lame. And i know God of War 3 will kick more ass than Chuck Norris at an orphanage.

How hard is it to adapt Kane & Lynch though? Geez- just take the exact script from the game. When will they learn fans won't feel ripped off if they do that? "Give em somethin completely different so they get their money's worth." Like who does that?
