"Hitman 2" Details RevealedSubmit Comment
We recently reported that screenwriter Kyle Ward has been hired by 20th Century Fox to pen a script for the "Hitman" sequel. That's all we knew at that point, but Variety now has some extra details.

The new film will revolve around Agent 47, who is at a low point. He must build himself back up psychologically and physically to reclaim his mantle as the world's most feared assassin. "Hitman 2" will contain story elements from "Hitman 5," the upcoming Eidos video game that will be released in late 2010.

The first film was made for $30 million an went on to gross $100 million in worldwide ticket sales.

I rolled out laughing when they tried to pass canned footage from the sci-fi show Dark Angel as flashback scenes for 47 in the first movie. Not only was the code-bar tattoo on the wrong place, but the kid was a girl. WTF?

I thought Olyphant was a great casting choice, but movie was lacking in every other area.

Fox studios LOVES to recycle footage from tv and films. I guess they feel there's no need to reinvent the wheel. Not like most Fox viewers are smart enough to see the trick. And Fox wrote the character for the first film like he was a video game character! Duh. Note to Fox: next time you adapt a video game character to film, ensure the film has more life than the game. I mean, did they realize that Olyphant's role exuded as much personality as Pac-Man? The guy deserves a little better. And then there's the alternate ending...if Fox has to be told people generally like 'positive' endings, then there's something wrong. The chick, Olphant's opposite, is a terrible actress btw, like she was a reject plucked from a Transporter 2 casting call.

olyphants face looks like a mix of ellen degeneres and rob reiner...then flattened by a steamroller.

Agree with you alexzzz. I don't understand how they can make a movie that is extremely less violent than the video game it's based on. Stupid, what's next a PG Gears of War movie.

Hope they use some of that money to hire an ADR unit for this one.
