Ever since director Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) announced that he will next helm "Sucker Punch," he has been promising to deliver an R-rated film. Unfortunately, he now tells Chud that he may end up making his new movie PG-13.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD:
"If you can make 'Taken' PG-13, you can make this movie PG-13. That's what I believe. Because it's more fantastic. No one really dies in the movie," he explained. "I think 'Sucker Punch' is a smart movie. It absolutely is challenging, and it's f*cking hardcore. But it's f*cking actiony like nobody's business. We hope the action we're creating is off the charts, and it's not stupid."
Regarding the action, Snyder revealed that the institutionalized Baby Doll and her companions will battle all sorts of creatures. "I like fight choreography and I like being able to see what's happening in action," he said. "When the girls are fighting, [like] they're on their way to kill a baby dragon, they've killed all of these orc-like creatures and they're entering a door [and] it's this classic, real Navy SEAL style room clearing. They have machine guns but they're fighting mythic creatures, impossible creatures. The hand to hand stuff is all brutal, because Damon [Caro] did all the [fights] in 'Bourne' and it has that vibe to it."

I'm sick and tired of this pg-13 trash. And Taken was no worse than TDK. Both movies had almost zero swearing. I don't think Sucker Punch can pull off great things with a PG-13 rating like Taken and TDK.

Dont piss on the Zack Attack- he NEEDS to make money after losing so much keeping faithful to The Watchmen only to see it tank for all his troubles. Taken PG13 and Taken R have exactly the same runtime...they're identical albeit a few splashes of red that most probably couldnt point out anyways...You can have EXTREME violence in a PG13 action film as long as the blood is green- he's totally right- listen to what he's saying.
