According to IESB, 20th Century Fox has hired writer Kyle Ward to pen a sequel to the big screen adaptation of the "Hitman" video game. No word on casting yet.

Ward wrote the "Kane & Lynch" video game adaptation, which is currently set up at Lionsgate with Bruce Willis rumored to star. He has also wrote "Fiasco Heights" for Platinum Dunes and Universal Pictures.

"Hitman," starring Timothy Olyphant as Agent 47, was released in 2007 and went on to earn $100 million in worldwide ticket sales.

I thought MAX PAYNE was the HITMAN sequel, part 2 in the sh*t Trilogy.

This news is at least 4 or 5 months old though.

Holy sh*t that was funny BurmaShave! But really a sequel? I hope Kane and Lynch end up being as fun as the generic game concept seemed. Might be the polar opposite of Hitman, horrible game but good movie.

This movie was awful, and I'm a big fan of the Hitman games. I also like Olyphant but he was completely miscast.

So they 'hired a hitman for the guy trying to make sequal' to this terrible film...? Good idea- hope he's sucessful.

I think this is a bad career move for Mr. Kyle Ward.

I have to say I throughly enjoyed Hitman and mark that as the best video game based film whether it was faithful to source material or not. Nothing gets me laughing more than the scene where they whip the swords out of nowhere...but the action shuts ya right up quickly. Frontier(s) was awesome- maybe they'll bring back Xavier Gens without completely f*cking him over with script, budget, and editing. i mean they chopped his budget in half WHILE he was shooting. The rewrote the thing just before it was about to go to post and it STILL came out as an alright time passer.

Hitman was alright, I didn't like the woman in it and the costume design for the soldiers was just horrible. I would watch a sequel.

That ridiculous Shoot Em Up movie- was better than Max Payne, Hitman, Wanted- all put together...

Oh they're hiring a writer for this one? That's a nice change.

NO WAY was it better than Wanted/ Im sorry but that guy shoots 4 people while btreaking through a window, then shoves a gun in a guys mouth, blows the back of his head off, shoves the gun through the hole and continues to kill 5 more people with the gun sticking out the wound... Shoot Em Up was better than the rest you mentioned but Wanted had everything SEUP had in ONE scene.
