Christian Bale on "Terminator Salvation" Sequel

Posted: June 23rd, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Christian Bale on Terminator Salvation SequelSubmit Comment
During the press junket for "Public Enemies," Christian Bale spoke about a possible sequel to "Terminator Salvation," revealing that there hasn't been much movement on it.

"We've had no talks about it or discussions about it," he said, adding that his involvement in a fifth "Terminator" film was not contractually guaranteed. "It all purely depends upon script."

Director McG has stated that he already mapped out the next two films. But since "Terminator Salvation" only earned $120 million domestically on a $200 million budget, Warner Bros may not be too excited about financing a new installment. However, it's not all bad news for "Salvation"; in addition to the $120 million, it has earned $200 million internationally for a worldwide total of $320 million.

Fire the writers... I'd bite the bullet on McG again just cause I think he has the action down and although the dialogue/story sucked I think given the PROPER writers (not the goofballs that wrote 'Catwoman') and you have a good sequel.

and tell Bale to tone it down a bit, it's really becoming one dimensional. After seeing American Psycho, Machinist, Rescue Dawn, etc this guy can flat out act... just enough with the angry guy gimmick now.

Terminator 4 was worse than Terminator 3. Do not continue the franchise. Listen to the creator,James Cameron, if Arnold isnt in it the movie isnt worth making.

Don't do it Bale- Let McG hire Zac Efron.

I agree with Natashaliddleston, new writers and a more serious tone with action sprinkled about. Plus get Bale to drop the Batman speak please.

T3 was good, T4 was bad...never make another one again

natashaliddleston is right on. The law of averages suggests McG is about to make something great. Everything he's done has sucked. Sucked balls. The rich man's Uwe Boll. Anybody who sucks as much as he's sucked, for as long as he's sucked, is bound to make something great by mistake. Yep-it was the writers fault McG made another movie that sucked. All the writers-the ones that turn in the script and the one that makes the final edit and chooses what gets filmed. He's also called the director. McG. Did he have any talent for MTV? It might explain why he can put together a decent 3 minute action sequence but anything longer is absolute crap.

A more serious tone? Worse than T3? I have a growing suspicion that you people are part of the crowd who NEVER saw the film. Go download that shit for free and then kick yourself later. There's no tongue in cheek crap- there's NO HUMOUR AT ALL- I cant see how you can get a more serious tone out of a movie- or how you can accuse it of not being serious in tone IF you actually saw it. Get off your hater asses and actually watch the thing. The number of haters are going to drastically disappear once this flick lands on DVD torrent sites.

Another thing that gives the haters away is Arnold's cameo played by Roland because I have yet to hear any hater describe that scene correctly. THAT scene kicks serious ass. The landmine scene, the highway chase, all the practical effects, even the STORY is satisfying. Haters say its ambiguous- because they haven't seen it. There's nothing ambiguous about the ending in the least- but haters say that because they get their faulty info from this site. Where's the plot holes? Haters ALSO dont seem to know that time travel hasnt even been introduced in this flick- YET they mention it as a time travel constantly. There's no portals, no orbs, the time travel technology hasnt even been discovered or introduced yet. Haters, haters, haters...always tripping up somewhere.

they should have had Sylvester Stallone play Arnold's part, like in Last action Hero where Stallone was the Terminator

Ha! $120mill in the US, I told yall this movie was a joke. Whats even funnier is that McGoof thinks he's gonna get another shot at making another one! There'll always be Charlies Angels 3 I guess.

If they are going to make a sequel, get rid of McG and hire a more capable directer plus make it a R rated film.

haha not overly sensitive Ranger- just merely pointing out that a lot of people who say its an absolute disaster obviously cant reference the film accurately...in fact they just repeat what appeared on WP verbatim. I even hear one guy state: "Its good until it gets all convoluted with the time travelling." then 10 people agree with that...then I go to see them film and time travel isnt even introduced in the series timeline yet. Just people feeding off of bullshit because they have a hard on against someone who spells there name with 3 letters.
lostwarrior writes:

No fuck the writers, fuck the director, they should just kill it off. CoMPLETELY. If they had made SW Connors then maybe, but Bale failed to show any real range regarding his acting ability here. perhaps he is getting a bit more notoriety than he deserves. Yeah he is a good actor, especially with all this shit that is coming out lately. But still, he is losing his edge a little bit. Now regarding terminator at hand, if Cameron is not involved and if he cant give a good recommendation for his replacement then thats reason enough why this franchise should of stayed at two only.
lostwarrior writes:

it seems like all the summer block buster are becoming complete disasters. in march it seemed like this summer was going to be filled with great movies regarding Terminator, Wolverine, ect... but they have been sub par so far. Perhaps public enemies will be the exception. in fact out of the movies that have rolled out this summer the only one I would enjoy seeing a sequel to is the hangover. the Terminator was very disappointing.
