First "Bruno" Review

Posted: June 16th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
First "Bruno" ReviewSubmit Comment
Sacha Baron Cohen's "Bruno" premiered in Paris yesterday and The Sun already posted their review of the film. Below is a few excerpts from the review, but you can read the entire thing here.

Excerpts: "To say Bruno makes uncomfortable viewing is an understatement... When I wasn't giggling like a 14-year-old, I was cowering behind my hands... And here lies a warning the pygmy sex scene is one of the most horrific incidents ever committed to celluloid... The character does lose a bit of steam towards the end but the musical climax, with cameos from CHRIS MARTIN, BONO, SIR ELTON JOHN and SNOOP DOGG is a fitting finale."

In addition, we also have a few images of Bruno from his GQ photoshoot. Click on the image below to see all the pictures.

Sacha Baron Cohen is a genius. Just what Hollyweird needs to stir up the boring norm.

If only they would make a Queen biopic, Sacha Baron Cohen would be the perfect choice for Freddie Mercury. The Academy would eat that sh*t up. If he ever wants an Oscar, he needs to push for the biopic. He knows he would own that role.

I actually agree with every comment above. Good to see people aren't hating. And yeah, I think there will come a time when people truly recognize that he's a great actor.

Cohen is a comedic genius. His work is so insane not because of how it comes off but of how true and honest it is. The world is insane.

@bluemeenie - lol! @meanmonkey22 - The Queen (Rock Band) story wasn't talked about as much as Freddie Mercury Story. Johnny Depp wanted the role and even auditioned for it (if Depp has to audition... you KNOW he wants the role), but lost out to Sacha Baron Cohen. So yeah... the interest is there, their lead Actor is chosen... now let's just hope it doesn't take the usual 10 years (seriously... movies do!) to get off the ground and get it made. The 3 surviving Members of Queen have all signed their headshots for me, and I'm a big fan (know that boxset of 20 gold Queen CD's... got that too...lol). Freddie was the man (near 4 octave range voice) - with Queen = 300+ million albums sold. And just look them up on IMDB and see how MANY movies use their music... amazing. Sacha would make a great Freddie. I'm looking forward to it. Maybe his latest role here was to prove he can do a little more Freddie than he even showed during his audition.
