it looks pretentious enough to be nominated for an Oscar,

Such dramatically dramatic drama

I wonder if they thought to mention that Darwin renounced his theories on evolution later on in his life?

theviking...your statement, of course, is absolute bullsh*t...he never refuted his theory, nor did he ever renounce his agnosticism

viking, you better not be a creationist making sh*t up again!

Viking: First thing is that scientific theories are collections of facts and data. They are not the same as hypotheses, which is the way that the lay-public uses the term. Even if Darwin had renounced his theory, it would not matter. Science is not about people's opinion; the data and evidence and groundwork had already been described after Darwin published, so what Darwin personally does after that point is scientifically meaningless unless he's doing meaningful scientific research.

well this is a fact....everybody is entitled to their own opinion...so...i'm not gonna disagree with anybody unless they mean harmful intentions....like killing, raping, scam, stuff like that...bad hearted people i guess....everybody just needs to chill or smoke a bowl or something....get along somehow....otherwise how the hell can we enjoy ourselves??...that's my theory lol...i don't believe in science all the way...cuz scientists are human and humans make mistakes....so i'll leave it at that....despite the disagreements...i think the issue is still a matter of whether or not people get along....look at the all the rich people in hollywood....they're wrapped up in their own lives living a dream....but i'm not tryin to stop them....people do what they do...and we, as an audience, have the choice to choose the movies we watch

nomination for bettany?

The actual Darwin was very apathetic when it comes to religion...I'll wait and see if the movie evolves into something better
bluemeenie writes:

Funny, how whether you believe in evolution or not- still doesn't change reality...what actually happened(s). Examine the facts that we have now in life...Decide for yourself where you come from...What's the rule of relativity again?
bluemeenie writes:

Has anyone here actually read Orgin of the Species? Darwin wrote several 'disclaimers' to his theories that many ignore.

The definition of evolution: "A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form." http://education.yahoo.com/reference/dictionary/entry/evolution Sounds like a new type of god to me-yourself.

So the movie was 'created' but 'all life has evolved'?
