Alfred Molina Wants to Return to "Spider-Man" Franchise

Alfred Molina Wants to Return to "Spider-Man" FranchiseSubmit Comment
MTV News spoke to Alfred Molina, who said that he'd love to reprise his role as Doctor Octopus in the upcoming fourth "Spider-Man" film, if he can just get past the whole "dead character" thing.

"No one's mentioned it, and I think it's highly unlikely, seeing as he died," said Molina. "[But] at the 'Spider-Man 2' premiere in London, I turned around to one of the producers and said, 'It's a real shame that I died, because I would've loved to do another one of these.' And he said, 'Oh, characters don't die in this universe, they just disappear.'"

So while he's not counting on returning to the franchise anytime soon, he added: "The only thing I'd like to see is to concentrate on one villain. Having two or three of them sort of dilutes the potency of it. It would be nice to see a female villain."

Wait he was tougher than you guyss think, remember him taking all those punches to the head? Yeah if he survivves Spidey punches then he survives being underwater for five years period.

For marketing reasons alone, "Spiderman 6 w/ the Sinister 6." And then I'm sure that would be the last one. I hope so anyway.

Don't need him. He says it best himself: "The only thing I'd like to see is to concentrate on one villain. Having two or three of them sort of dilutes the potency of it. It would be nice to see a female villain." ---- there are a ton of villains they haven't even used yet. As for a female one... sure, and Alfred doesn't cover that base either. Thx. for playing. You had your time in the spotlight. Have a great life. Don't brush your teeth with a brick. God Bless.

Not a horrible idea, but not a fantastic one either. With all the bad criticism that came from Spider Man 3, I wouldn't bring him back knowing that there are thousands of critics out there just waiting to dog anything out of order in the sequel. If they brought him back, critics would probably say "This new film even fails to compose a new sense of originality, This is just another case of a series with nowhere to go, (and shouldn't go anywhere in the first place) not mentioning any names, (cough, McG) which forces money hungry idealists to create some ridiculous plot in order to continue it. A man in the 2nd one which we see die in the water, now returns almost 6 years later? When Doc Oc died he should've dragged the rights down with him. The new sypnosis fails to do justice to the friendly neighborhood superhero and only causes half of the series to be horrible, now 2 out of 4, (3 and 4)"
