Neil Marshall to Direct "Predators" Reboot?Posted: June 12th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
A "Predator" reboot has been in the works for a while, but it was only when Robert Rodriguez came on board that it really took off. The film will be called "Predators" and will be based on a script he wrote many years ago. Unfortunately, he won't be directing. So, who will?
Bloody-Disgusting just learned that Neil Marshall is in close talks to helm the new movie for 20th Century Fox. The deal is not yet signed, but getting close to it.
Marshall gained a bit of popularity with "Dog Soldiers" that led to his "The Descent" horror film. Last year, he released "Doomsday" and is currently hard at work on "Centurion."

The Descent was a pretty cool flick. Wait, is that the one with the Brit. chicks? If it was it was good, I heard they were making a sequel to that, or was it a different one. Wow, I should probably go to sleep now, haha.

I think Marshall is a solid choice. He seems to get horror/action pretty well.

Well I bet someone disagrees but I like this choice over Rodriguez. I mean he hasn't done any horror movies to this point, but Marshal has made great action horror movies; Dog Soliders, the Decent, I am not sure about the last two I haven't seen Doomsday but heard it was bad, but I can say the same of Rodrigues with Sharkboy and Lava Girl or Shorts. So this is probably the better choice.

Wow. Dog Soldiers was and will always remain as one of the most horrible movies I have ever seen. ON the cover it calls it a combination of Jaws, Predator, and Alien, and it is no where near as scary or good as any of those. Robert Rodriguez ought to just direct it. He would've done justice to the killer yaktjaw. Oh well, I guess the director of Doomsday (sucked), The Descent (sucked, but the monsters were a little creepy) will be doing a predator remake.
