Pixar Confirms "Monsters, Inc" SequelPosted: June 8th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Jim Hill attended the 2009 Licensing International Expo, where Disney held a preview session for buyers. And while they were sworn to secrecy, several of the buyers still revealed how excited they are about news that director Pete Docter will be following up Pixar's "Up" with a sequel to "Monsters Inc."
Back in February, The Pixar Blog noticed that someone at Pixar did a search for "monsters 2013 pixar" on the site, which could mean that the "Monsters, Inc" sequel could appear in theaters by 2013.
The original movie appeared in theaters in 2001 and went on to earn over $525 million in worldwide ticket sales on a $115 million budget.

I hope this is real time... "Boo" could be 14 and have her own baby for the monsters to scare. I have problems.

I doubt it will be anything about Boo- I think they very much want that to be a stand alone story. Last time they were making kids laugh- they'll have to come up with another sort of drama...

all i can say is they better not change the whole laughter issue....they should make something up where waterneus breaks out of jail and brings the scare back...and mike and sully have to fix everything before it's too late....or maybe waterneus breaks out, takes over the company with a bunch of new bad scary monsters...i dunno....i just hope they don't tarnish the whole idea that laughter is more powerful than scream

As a writer that's the only scenario I see happening- A competition in the power company biz- or more of humans crossing over-maybe adults finding out about the monsters- exploiting them...something along those lines. If I were Pixar the easier sequel is 100% Incredibles...This one and Toy Story are challenges to do justice to- imo

there's always room for 'a bug's life 2'...what happened to that little teaser in the end credits for toy story 2?...you know they'll look into it eventually...sadly the voice actor for the caterpillar died...but still they could make a sequel and still dedicate it to him...it'd be fun....obviously cuz there's tons more bugs to explore in that world
