James Cameron to Direct "Heavy Metal" SegmentPosted: June 6th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
About a month ago, producer Kevin Eastman revealed that David Fincher (Fight Club, Benjamin Button), Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen), Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy) and Mark Osborne (Kung Fu Panda) have all signed on to direct a part of the upcoming "Heavy Metal" remake.
"There are three other directors, that I can't tell you yet, but will be jaw-dropping when we can tell you," he told FilmSchoolRejects.
So who are these three other directors? While he wouldn't reveal all of them, he did say that James Cameron (Terminator, Titanic) has both signed on to co-executive produce with Fincher and also direct a segment of the film.
He also revealed that Jack Black will appear in Osborne's part, re-teaming them after "Kung Fu Panda."

Anthology films always suck sh*t no matter the talent involved. Too mnay egos, too many visions, all clashing against each other to make a muddled piece of crap. Romero and King were barely able to piece one together, and Trapped Ashes was garbage bin junk...they have always sucked and I'm pretty confident they always will seeing how Heavy Metal is the most juvenile piece of sh*t I ever encountered. When you make a film based a property that is jacked off to more than read- its definitely a BAD IDEA.

No one knows how this will turn out. The collaboration is appealing enough just make it already!

Whats going to suck worse? Mark Osborne's segment or the overall music for the new Heavy Metal? Let me guess: Slipknot, Drowning Pool, Saliva, Korn, Three Days Grace and Nickelback providing the soundtrack, right? This sh*t stinks already

Naw they already tried to do a HP Lovecraft Anthology film- "Necronomicon The Book Of the Dead"- you can check to see how that one turned out (hint: TOTAL sh*t)...I really despise anthology films- Can ya tell? hahaha there just hasn't been a successful or entertaining one yet.

Sounds pretty good with all the big name directors, but I'm a little turned off by Jack Black for some reason.

Anyone tell Jimmy-boy that he may have to restrict himself to a 'budget' and a 'schedule' on this project?! And I'd hate to be the poor bastard breaking that news to him.
