"Wall Street 2" Villain and Plot RevealedSubmit Comment
DeadlineHollywoodDaily has confirmed that Shia LaBeouf and Javier Bardem (No Country For old Men) will star alongside Michael Douglas in the upcoming "Wall Street" sequel, to be directed by Oliver Stone. Principal photography is set to begin on August 10th with a goal of releasing the film in theaters on February.

The story will span from June 2008 through the federal bailout and will give the audience some perspective in the same way that the original dealt with insider trading.

Plot: It's 21 years later and Gordon Gekko (Douglas) has finished serving his prison sentence. He finds himself on the fringe of the financial community and is cautioning Wall Street that the "end is coming" -- but nobody is listening. So Gordon becomes obsessed with trying to repair his ruptured relationship with his daughter.

LaBeouf is a young Wall Street trader who's engaged to be married to Gekko's estranged daughter. He wants to be a major player, but his mentor unexpectedly kills himself, and he thinks a villainous stock-shorting worldwide hedge fund manager (Bardem) is responsible. So LaBeouf goes to Gordon saying, "I need your help", and makes a deal with Gekko who in return wants LaBeouf's help getting back with the daughter.

YAWN.... This sounds retarded. I cannot believe Michael Douglas is signed on for this. How does Shia LaBeouf keep getting good roles with solid directors?

I bet LaBeouf will have a scene where he runs and yells no..no..nononononononononono.

I'm a huge fan of the first movie. But me thinks there's enough plot revealed here... I'll just await the rental.

I hope LaBeouf talks to himself in the 3rd person as usual. It just brings so much more into the role.

Why make a sequel so many years later especially when the original was so good...its gonna ruin everything that made the first one so awesome

good question....same thing could be asked with why producers feel they need to find an after and before to every single franchise that really doesn't need to be ruined further

I can't see how Bardem will agree to be in this sh*t...

America is in the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression and this is what they come up with for Gekko? Is there still a writers strike goin on in Hollywood?

Michael Douglas gambling his career for this sh*t? He sure has no money now

"Wall Street 2?!?! Why in the world would they name another street with the exact same name as another one?!?! Keep just the one name 'Wall Street'- should we start doing 'Broadway 2 and 3' too?" - Megan Fox

this could turn out good if they keep it serious and real. Michael needs some Gekko sh*t to do. Loved him in Wall Street, he was Wall Street.
