"Die Hard" Prequel Comic Book Announced

Boom! Studios has announced a "Die Hard: Year One" comic book, which will serve as a prequel to the popular John McClane (Bruce Willis) movies. Today we have a brief description of it and several first issue covers.

Description: Every great action hero got started somewhere: Batman Began. Bond had his Casino Royale. And for John McClane, more than a decade before the first "Die Hard" movie, he's just another rookie cop, an East Coast guy working on earning his badge in New York City during 1976's Bicentennial celebration. Too bad for John McClane, nothing's ever that easy.

"Die Hard: Year One" will appear in comic book stores in August of 2009.

telur - I'm pretty sure Bruce will get likeness rights for this, but exactly how much that is, is anyones guess. And him allowing his face to be used is quite surprising.....because he so rarely has. He didn't even allow his face to be used with the John McClane action figure that NECA put out a few year back - which is why it looks like complete ass. I'll definitely be picking this book up and giving it a shot, probably with the Dave Johnson cover - as 100 Bullets was one of my favorite comics over the last few years.

Artwork looks good, Its a cool premise, and would love to see it as an hbo series or something, but im sure like everything else these 4 movies will be rechurned for todays kids.

Actually there alread has been a prequel to Die Hard. its called The Detective and it starred Frank Sinatra as McClane. it was made in 1968, i believe. it is a very interesting movie. Die Hard originally takes place in the 70's.
