"Lemony Snicket" Sequel Could HappenPosted: May 26th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

During the "Land of the Lost" premiere, CineFools got the chance to speak to director Brad Silberling and asked him whether a sequel to "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" could still happen.
"It was a co-production between Paramount and Dreamworks and there were studio politics and I actually think it's going to see the light of day," said Silberling. "[Name removed for privacy reasons] and I, he's the writer of... is very friendly with Mr. Snicket I should say, we stay in constant touch about it, because I would love nothing more than to do that and we've been hoping to, so I think there will be a chance it may take a wildly different form, but I think it will probably happen."
"Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" stars Jim Carrey and appeared in theaters in December of 2004. It went on to earn $209 million in worldwide ticket sales on a $140 million budget. Hardly a great success.

I love where a profit of 70 million dollars is considered a flop. If they don't want the 70 mil, pass it my way! Sheesh!!

Exactly what The5thBeatle5 says. Jim doesn't like doing sequels. He did Ace 2 because it was in his contract. Normally the guy likes to do new and other things all the time and push himself to do different roles.

He actually said that he'd love to play Count Olaf again in a Lemony Snicket sequel.

About time! As long as they have Emmanuel Lubezki on board I'll see it.
