"Castlevania" is Officially Dead

"Castlevania" is Officially DeadSubmit Comment
It's been almost three years since the first time we've heard of a "Castlevania" movie, based on a popular video game franchise by Konami. Paul WS Anderson (Resident Evil, AVP) first wrote the script, then Sylvain White (Stomp the Yard) was hired to direct and it was officially set to begin filming last Spring for Rogue Pictures.

According to Bloody-Disgusting, the project is now considered dead. White is no longer attached and while searching for a new director, the entire thing just fell apart. Seems a bit odd, considering that vampire movies are the hot thing right now.

The film was to focus on the origins of Dracula and the uprising of the Belmont Clan, a vampire-slaying family who supposedly become humanity's last hope.

Apparently the dance battle with Alucard held up the movie because everyone knows white people can't dance.

Alright! that's a F@$$&$! good thing I know they would have messed that up seeing how the game has tons of monsters, magic, weapons and more things that could make it go wrong.

anything with paul ws anderson brings reason to be concerned about a film.

someone really needs to bring the magic and 80s fantasy that the games brought to our imaginations if they decide to do the more popular 80s game titles

Paul Anderson needs to stay the f*ck away from adapting games into movies. He f*ckin rapes them!

Maybe he should stay away from adapting screenplays into movies, too.

The Castlevania where you can shapeshift into a vampire was awesome. I think it was part 3, and you end up fighting the devil or some sh*t at the end of it.

btw even if they end up doing zelda as a movie...i still wanna do my own...for the sake of doing it w/80s or 90s filming techniques in it...not sayin i'll ever get the chance but it'd be cool...i'd keep it based on the first game but adding stuff from other games in it...and it would absolutely end, no sequels ever!...and anybody that wanted to help, i'd find some way for them to because i'd need all the help i could get heh
