More "Ghostbusters 3" Details RevealedSubmit Comment
Dan Aykroyd sat down with The Guardian to talk about the third "Ghostbusters" movie, revealing that he owes the success of the franchise to Bill Murray and his presence as the leading man.

He added that Murray didn't have many demands to return for "Ghostbusters 3," except that he wanted an assurance that Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson), the underwritten black character from the movies, would be elevated to full status.

Regarding the story, Aykroyd said: "There'll be a whole new generation that has to be trained and a leader that you'll all love when you meet her. There'll be lots of cadets, boys and girls who'll be learning how to use the neuron splitter and the inter-planet interceptor - new tools to enable them to slip from dimension to dimension."

The female characters may end up being played by Alyssa Milano and Eliza Dushku, two actresses Aykroyd previously named as his casting choices.

And this isn't the first time that Aykroyd has mentioned dimension-jumping. Back in February of 2007, he talked about a script he wrote. "I wrote a script called 'Hell Bent,' Ghostbusters go to hell basically," said Aykroyd. "The premise is that it's Manhellton. There's Manhattan and ManHELLton. And if you can build an inter-dimensional phase system so that you can go from one dimension to another. We've succeeded doing that and we go to the hell side."

This is like 2 week old news WP. Also in the initial interview it was never clear as to whether Aykroyd was referring to the movie or the new game.

@WV-Films: Aykroyd did this interview on Saturday. He elaborated on a few things he previously mentioned. But this is new.

Alyssa Milano sucks ass, she has not done anything worth while ever. Dushku on the other hand has a great presence on camera. Hopefully they give her the title role and she can finally break out, its been a long time coming.

Also, Kuddos to Bill Murray for helping out Ernie Hudson, I still dont understand how anyone can divorce a man like Bill Murray.

Milano and Dushku BOTH shot these rumors down. Neither of them had ever heard anything about the new GB film. Milano does a voice in the game, but thats it.

I love ghostbusters but it seems like they are already starting to go in the wrong direction with this.

I'm not fro the actress choices, but I think the Ghostbusters franchise still has so much potential it's not even funny, no pun intended.
