"Terminator Salvation" Earns $3 Million on ThursdayPosted: May 22nd, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Warner Bros released the new "Terminator Salvation" film in 3,450 theaters on Thursday, with thousands of people going to see Christian Bale battle the machines. Early estimates suggest that "Salvation" midnight performances alone brought in more than $3 million domestically.
Though not a record, the data shows that there is much interest in the franchise. "Salvation" is expected to do $70 million or more over its first five days in release, a projection based on an anticipated big Thursday tally and robust business expected during the always-lucrative long Memorial Day weekend.
Also Friday, Fox bows its action/comedy sequel "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" in 4,096 locations. And Paramount unspools the Wayans brothers spoof "Dance Flick" in more than 2,300 theaters.

Just saw it last night. And wow was I dissapointed. Overall I think it sucked actually. The only cool parts are the old T-600 terminators and when he fights the T-800 that looks like Arnold. The rest of it was average at best

Salvation was better than I thought. I have no idea why people say it sucked, and I don't know what people expect out of movies these days. I really don't. People say blockbusters suck because of "missing" story elements, and good movies that win awards are ripped just as hard. According to people on this site, there hasn't been a a good movie released in decades. And anybody who wants to complain about character development and plot and all of that, please, go watch The Godfather. Leave the summer blockbusters to people who want to be entertained without analyzing every shot in every scene in every movie.

I thought it was kickass- but note: the WORST thing about T4 is Christian Bale's constant shouting. Everything else is awesome...but when an awesome flick is carried by a boring screamer it tends to let down folks...as far as Im concerned McG, Anton Yelchin, and Sam worthington brought their A Game and Bale fucked them all by sleepwalking through his role...very disappointed in Bale's depiction of Connor.
