Ewan McGregor on "Trainspotting" Sequel

Ewan McGregor on "Trainspotting" SequelSubmit Comment
In November, director Danny Boyle revealed that he is looking forward to making a "Trainspotting" sequel, based on author Irvine Welsh's follow-up novel "Porno," but will wait until all the actors get a bit older and become visibly middle aged.

Even though most of the original cast seems to be interested in reprising their roles, Ewan McGregor is the only one that keeps flip-flopping regarding his involvement. He first said that if a sequel is ever made, it will be without him. Then Boyle chatted with the actor and apparently convinced him to do it. But now, McGregor once again is not interested.

"The idea of getting the cast together again 10-15 years later isn't good enough. You need more than that," he told Moviefone. "I didn't think the book [Porno] was very good. The novel of 'Trainspotting' was quite fantastic. It was beautiful, quite moving and disturbing writing, and then I find that the sequel, it didn't move me as much. He'd written a good sequel to the film, as opposed to a sequel to his book."

Even if it isn't as good as Trainspotting, it'll still be better than the majority of Ewan Mcgregor movies.

Ewan Mcgregor has to be one of the highest talent to crappy films ratio

If all of his movies are terrible.....where does the talent part come in?

not all of his films are terrible; just most. He's given great performances, so he's obviously talented, and he's usually the best part of his films, but he chooses awful films; that's where he lacks talent.

Trainspotting is the tits! I just Netflixed it and saw it for the first time like 3 months ago. And I don't know what the f*ck he is being picky for, he was in Star Wars I-III! That sh*t-rilogy alone should make him try to redeem himself by making a good sequel.

@ Blank x2: Think about what you wrote. The best actor in the world could still be in the worst movie in the world.

I really couldn't stand Porno...I liked it- but as a sequel it really sucks as. It changes ALL the characters so drastically. I mean Renton is a successful business man...WTF? This is the guy who dove without fear into a sh*tty toilet bowl, and Sick Boy just become a total c*nt...as a sequel its terrible. BUT as a stand alone film it's pretty damn interesting and awesome- Begbie and Spud make it all worthwhile.
Blank x2 writes:

@Ronsauce, that may be true, but he is NO way the best actor in the world, so the argument should end there. I agree with what you're saying, I just think the guy is overrated.
Blank x2 writes:

And if any actor is truly GREAT, he will not allow his movie to be considered the worst movie ever. I'm probably wrong, I just don't like Ewan or his acting.

Jesus...why not get a sequel to A Clockwork Orange while your at it. Stop with the f*cking reboot sequels to put money in peoples pockets already. f*ck.
