"Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus" Sequel?

"Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus" Sequel?Submit Comment
Remember that ridiculous trailer for the straight-to-DVD film "Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus"? Well, it has become an internet sensation and the studio behind it could even develop a sequel.

"I am shocked," actress Deborah Gibson told MTV News. "I was looking at the video numbers, and the trailer has been watched hundreds of thousands of times. I'm like, 'Oh my God!' When you're doing an [indie] film like that, you feel like, 'I'm doing this little fun, under-the-radar thing. You never know what's going to pop."

She continued: "I haven't seen the final edit, but we did do a version that leaves the door open for a potential sequel. Because God knows what else is in the ocean. I thought maybe a seahorse? Maybe a 500-foot lobster would be good. But yes, there is the potential for a sequel, and I would absolutely love it."

"Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus" hits stores on Tuesday.

Umm... can we wait and see the first one first to see if it's as washed up as your (80's) career is before we jump onto this one again?! And she thinks a seahorse (of ANY size) is threatening?! OK guys... if there's a sequel with a seahorse battling ANYthing... I'll cover ALL bets for the seahorse! I suspect this movie will garner a following like the FIRST (only): RoBoCop, StarShip Troopers... kind of a thing. 'When you're doing an [indie] film like that, you feel like, 'I'm doing this little fun, under-the-radar thing.' --- don't be coy bitch... you needed rent and grocery money!!! As for the picture above, and the positioning of the shark: it looks like the designer believes the water under the Golden Gate Bridge is about 1200 feet deep!

She doesnt seem to understand that the reason the trailer has so many views is because people cannot believe that sh*t like this is actually filmed for viewing pleasure

Yeah... she's not the sharpest hedge trimmer in the tool shed.

She might have the sharpest trimmed hedge though.

don't you just love it when they look at the numbers and think just because the numbers are high, it's adored?......will they ever learn the truth?

"When you're doing an [indie] film like that, you feel like, 'I'm doing this little fun, under-the-radar thing. You never know what's going to pop." From Broadway to this...? I know what "popped" for ya hun.

"I thought maybe a seahorse? Maybe a 500-foot lobster would be good. But yes, there is the potential for a sequel, and I would absolutely love it." GENIUS! I wouldn't expect anything less from Debbie Gibson.

It's just as hard to expect any more. I can see this happening (seriously)... they'll make more movies of this storyline than Godzilla! In 15 years... it'll be a fricken box set!

It's because the trailer is an absolute trainwreck...not that we're going to buy the trainwreck itself. Most of the people who see this probably think its a joke from a sketch show and there is no film at all.

Why the hell not? They greenlit another Wolverine movie, why not greenlight a movie that is better than that one for a sequel before it's even released.

"Indie"? "Film"? Are u f*ckin' serious, Lady?? You must have been really thrilled when they dicided to dust of u and the other 80's relic "The Lamas" for this "masterpiece-of-sh*t"

"500 foot Lobster"? oh boy spoiler alert, kids!!!

so simply a seahorse against a 500-foot lobster...how long would a trailer be for that one? 2 seconds?
Ranger writes:
on May 14th, 2009 at 2:58:15 PM

A little longer. Remember the lobster would be hindered by those BIG ELASTIC BANDS on his claws.

Well if they can pay for a sequel in figurative internet dollars from Youtube views that would be pretty amazing...THE FREE DOWNLOAD OF THE YEAR IS HERE FOLKS!
Blank x2 writes:

Why not do a sequel? It looks like it would take about 200 dollars and a camera phone to be equal to the first one. B Movies rule!
ACTIONFIGURE writes:

And yes...I would still f*ck the Botox outta Debbie Gibson!!
vwkombi writes:

A giant seahorse? Wow, what could that possibly fight? A giant clownfish? Talk about battle of the totally lame.
