Is Sam Worthington Too Good for "Green Lantern"?

Is Sam Worthington Too Good for "Green Lantern"?Submit Comment
Sam Worthington (Terminator Salvation, Avatar) recently revealed that he has already spoken with director Martin Campbell about starring in the upcoming "Green Lantern" superhero film.

Now, MTV News caught up with the actor to find out whether he is truly interested in the role. "I don't know about that," said Worthington. "I couldn't really see myself in green spandex."

Even though he has yet to appear in a mainstream film, Worthington already worries about taking roles that could potentially be difficult, like in a superhero movie. "[Christian Bale] told me stories about Batman and the cowl, how heavy the cape was," he said. "So, it didn't sound that appealing he was sweating his ass off."

Worthington mentioned that he's currently waiting to read the script for "Green Lantern" and will decide whether he wants to star in the new movie after he gets a chance to see what the story is like.

If It's as good as "Casino Royal" he better do it. I'd rather see Bradley Cooper do it though.

well this isn't a big deal, but since when does mtv news cover movies?...thought they were supposed to cover music news?...sorry i'm baked lol

See, this is good, an actor wanting to read a script before signing on to anything. Rather than just snapping up all the big budget movies they can while they're popular.

Martin Campbell has also spoken with Neil Fifer about this role. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1292175/

Neil Fifer sounds like a putz that would be lucky to get an acting job in a hemorrhoid commercial.

If your reading this re-read the first comment posted - acslaterson - "He doesn't wear a cowl or have a hood you jackass, hahaha". Acslaterson, where the hell in the article does he say hood , jackass ! God you are stupid !

I vote that the article title be changed to "Is Sam Worthington too Much of a Blubbery Vagina for Green Lantern."

Spandex...Ugh- The devil's way of backhanding superheroes...

That only means he doesn't have the dedication of doing some real work like Bale or what have you. Boo!
RobertHolik writes:

Oh, he's reached the *sshole level of his personality as most actors do. Christian Bale hit it after Batman Begins came out. Now he thinks he's the hottest sh*t in Hollywood. Playing someone like Green Lantern should be an honor for every actor, don't ever feel like you're too good or big for a role.

@ quakes1121 "[Christian Bale] told me stories about Batman and the cowl, how heavy the cape was," he said. "So, it didn't sound that appealing he was sweating his ass off." Oh my bad I meant to say cape. Oh and go f*ck yourself, what are you some English major who got a load blown in your ass after having a Shakespeare reading session?

Umm some of you people are idiots,Sam Worthington never said he was "Too good" for this role,he simply said he wanted to read a script, get of his back

RobertHolik - John Goodman is too big for some roles (sncker)...
akumavern writes:

I don't want some p*ssy who doesn't even know what Green Lantern looks like to play him.

akumavern, my point exactly.

I agree with Ronsauce.THis bitch is gettin too big for his britches and no one has seen terminator yet. Be glad you're working!sh*t, in this economy gimme some purple spandex! Money is money...bitch
Ranger writes:

I agree. There's a lot of that going on though. Jackman didn't know who Wolverine was. Matthew McConaughey doesn't know who Captain America is (f*ck... HE'S A CAPTAIN...FOR... AMERICA!!!!), because he's just a dumb twat. I've been awaiting a GREAT GL movies for years. And always suspected he'd be one of DC's first (after the standard Supes, Batman of course). Yeah... curious to see who they get here.
Ronsauce writes:

I just need to clarify to those with reading comprehension problems, the article and my previous post imply that Worthington is more of a p*ssy than someone who thinks he is "too good" for Green Lantern.
Ranger writes:

Is anyone ever too good for a role?!
Cinestarr writes:

Who is Sam Worthington and why would I care about what he thinks of this or any other role?
Ranger writes:

Who is Sam Worthington?! You know... Mr. and Mrs. Worthington's boy.
AJWPProfile writes:

He is the worst Macbeth ever that's who Sam Worthington is
shayhiri writes:

And who the f*ck is "Green Lantern", now that we speak of this? Sam I know. Lantern do not.
KaloVisor writes:

I think Bradley Cooper, Would be better for the role, anyways. of course I never seen Sam Worthington in anything.
Space_Ghost11 writes:
