Plot: Kline (Hartnett), an ex-cop in Los Angeles traumatized by slaying a serial killer, is hired by a powerful corporate boss to go to the Philippines and find Shitao, his missing son. Kline's leads take him to Hong Kong.

How do movies get financed based on Josh Hartnett? I don't actually dislike him at all, he's been good (O, Lucky Number Slevin) occasionally, but he's not a star at all.

That was the stupidest trailer I have ever seen, now I want to go and watch Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.

Yeah I agree with you completely there- the only reason this hasn't been picked up by a distributor is because they can't market a formula for it... since it doesn't stick to formula. Even if it's good who's gonna see this over all the specific, genre, American films that have only one plot point and a retard short synopsis? "Dog loses girl, Dog finds girl with a reluctant cat and a gerbal in an exercise ball."

He's Only did two good films ONLY TWO "Black Hawk Down" and "Lucky Number Slevin" but I like to think that Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman saved "Lucky Number Slevin"

What?!? No 30 Days of Night? The Faculty? Sin City? 40 Days and 40 Nights certainly did not suck. Either did "O" which is known as a great Shakespeare adaptation critically. Even Hollywood Homicide was enjoyable....You're all being too picky. Black Dahlia was the only complete dog this guy has been in and who wouldnt accept a role from DePalma?

I forgot he was in "The Faculty" I always thought of that as an Elijah Wood movie though...That's one of my favorite SCI-Fi horror Parody movies.

and "Sin City" was too much of an Ensemble cast to be considered someone's movie. Even though it is a great movie. I don't remember Josh to be in it a lot.

Without that Hartnett scene though- Miller would never have agreed to the project. Hartnett lending his talents for that screentest (that made its way into the film itself) was the trigger to the entire film project...naw this guy's a good actor. I can't see why you'd hate him outright...

Hollywood Homicide was complete sh*t. 40 days was ok, as was O. SinCity is overrated and he is barely in it.

Ya'll forgot that he was also in H2O, Pearl Harbor, and Here on Earth....I like Josh Hartnett, he's a great actor not too big like Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise, but he's laid back. ( Oh and he was in The Black Dahlia too....)

if you do some research, one of the best japanese actors is starring in this film so you can't really say "a cast of nobody asians" -- especially when it's not following the blockbuster garbage trend.
