Director Quentin Tarantino spoke with the NY Times about his upcoming WWII "Inglourious Basterds" movie. Last year, he promised to have the film ready for the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and he kept his promise. But his optimism for "Basterds" goes beyond making deadlines.
Tarantino revealed that if the new film is sucessful, he already has a prequel story ready to go. That story is about African-American soldiers stuck behind enemy lines. "I have a half-written prequel ready to go if this movie's a smash," he said.
Tarantino also predicted that his new movie will be one of the best original scripts of 2009. "It will be in the original category at the Oscars," he said.

I am still waiting on the Vega Brothers movie asshole! Hahaha, too bad Travolta and Madsen are way too old now. How come Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, or Japanese never get any World War 2 love? Shit, many soldiers of the 442nd Infantry Battalion served while their families were put in internment camps stateside! Instead we get Tarantino trying to do a WW II Jackie Brown, oh well. Should be good.
