Trailer: Jennifer Lynch's "Hisss" Horror Film

Posted: April 28th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Trailer: Jennifer LynchSubmit Comment
Jennifer Lynch, the daughter of director David Lynch (Lost Highway, Mulholland Dr), is currently looking forward to the June 26th release of her mystery/thriller "Surveillance and is also in post-production on a horror/thriller "Hisss," which is based on the Far Eastern myth of the snake woman who is able to take on human form.

While the plot of the film is way too long to put on this site, the film is described as follows: The Curse of the Cobra Goddess - anytime man desecrates or violates the cobra, they are doomed to suffer the petrifying curse of the snake woman, of death and infertility. Only respect and worship can keep the population safe and the women fertile.

"Hisss" is scheduled to appear at the Cannes Film Festival, where it will look for a domestic distributor. For now, check out the trailer below.

I just saw "Surveillance" not too long ago and it's still stuck in my mind. I'll forgive her for Boxing Helena, but being a hermit in the forest for 16 years (true story) paid off for her. She came back being able to deliver Lynch's madness without making it indigestible to mainstreamers...this looks to be following the same vein. But god damn people- watch SURVEILLANCE...even IF you predict the outcome (and its in your face the whole time purposefully anyway)- its an unforgettable little thriller.

Anytime "somebody desecrates or violates a cobra", huh? Is this really where we're going with movies these days? Is it possible to make an original movie that sounds interesting anymore? Movies are just getting dumber and dumber.

Blank dude this is more arthouse...do you really think a studio mind came up with this one? Read the full synopsis online because WP is getting dumber and dumber...This is certainly not Anacondas 5 and it features the best special effects work I've ever seen from Robert Kurtzman and that man knows his FX. Expect disturbing blood and a deep mythology. Guaranteed this flick pisses off mainstreamers for not being dumb enough.

I hope so. As a whole, it may be good, but as a paragraph synopsis, not so much. I like Kurtzman, so I'm pulling for it.

Not as clever as Lair of the White Worm (classic). But if she's anything like her father, it might be worth a gander.

it acutally looks pretty damn good and not cheesy/sh*tty at all... I'd watch it for sure

What the HELL did I just watch!!!!

Watch "Surveillance" and you'll get a heads up...She's a commercial Lynch without losing any of the brutality...or weirdness. If this woman got an awesome performance from French Stewart and made Bill Pullman not sound like Bill Pullman...I think she can pull off anything. Or at least make it interesting.
