"Avatar" Photos, Interview and Trailer NewsPosted: April 25th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
MarketSaw got their hands on a few scans from the new issue of Empire magazine, which features a section on the upcoming James Cameron-directed "Avatar," including pictures and an interview. Once again, there are no actual shots from the film.
Cameron spoke about the technology he is using on the new film, claiming that it was the inspiration for Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson to take on the "Tintin" trilogy.
"With the capture technologies we developed, the actor can be any character they can imagine and the director can create any world, any time and any space," explained Cameron. "I invited [Spielberg and Jackson] over while shooting 'Avatar.' I put the camera in their hands and they basically became two kids. They were running around the stage, working the camera, and that's the moment when they both kind of looked at each other in the eye and said, 'Let's make 'Tintin'."
I bet all that sounds good to you. I bet you would love to see the trailer and finally see some footage. Unfortunately, 20th Century Fox has just revealed that a trailer for "Avatar" will NOT be attached to "Wolverine" on May 1st.

There's no way this is going to flop. Fox fucks everybody except for this man, frankly because they can't keep up with the guy...so they shut up, market the shit out of his name and shovel up awards as well as cash...plus he'll design, create, test, and use 2 or 3 completely new pieces of technology while making this thing.

I don't know if it will break any records but hardcore film heads and hollywood are certainly looking to see what Cameron is going to do post Titanic.

Yeah, well put, PrevalentMind. The man's got some serious foresight. Maybe he knows a little more about time travel than he lets on.

Just think of the reason why he hasn't made films in a decade...he makes his money designing the tools of the trade. If the movie isn't a mega blockbuster, they'll make their money back and then some just by selling all the new equipment he fashioned. Cameron just wants to test out his toys...and those 'tests' usually become Academy Award winning films hahaha. Hiring the man is a no lose situation.
