Mark Millar Defends "Wanted 2" Writer

Mark Millar Defends "Wanted 2" WriterSubmit Comment
Last week it was announced that Evan Spiliotopoulos has been hired to write the "Wanted" sequel for Universal Pictures. That decision seemed a bit strange, since the man is responsible for co-writing two Winnie the Poof movies, "Pooh's Heffalump Movie" and its DVD Halloween spin-off.

Now, Mark Millar, creator of the "Wanted" graphic novel, posted some comments on his message board to defend Spiliotopoulos. "This guy is supposed to be really good. He did a GREAT action script recently (on an unproduced movie) and that's what got him this gig," he said.

Regarding the sequel: "Never listen to any commentators as they never know anything about who's coming back, etc. It's just speculation and 99% of the time these guys don't have access to the people who know. 'Wanted 2' is being made in a very tight circle at the moment. As a producer on the thing, I'm excited. I know who's in it and after doing 342 million at the box office we have [serious] money to spend on everything from cast to crew to script."

Both James McAvoy and director Timur Bekmambetov are expected to return for "Wanted 2."

Should one go ahead and make a movie if it requires defending?

Angie should return as a hunter out for bloody revenge against McAvoy cause he convinced her twin sister to comitte suicide. Angie kickin ass is always kool, the movie Gods should approve.

Fair enough if Millar says it cool, that should be enough? please remember fox had ears in teh comic and they where mostly from other planets! the movie wanted was based on the comic, and the Sequel can be based on Winnie the pooh! dont mean tigger gonna be in it.. x

By all means let's get totally outraged about this. after all Disney is such an unproven entity and has never been the source of any talent or quality, right. And let's not forget if we don't make a stand now, the ingrety and honor of 'wanted' may never be recovered. then someday we may never have another movie adapted from a comic book or video game again. next thing you know no more sequels or remakes either. oh, wait, that may be a god thing. i changed my mind, looks like a "win/win" for us after all!

Mark Miller is a sellout so who cares what he thinks? But really let the guy write this, maybe it'll be better than Wanted which SUCKED.

They're making a Wanted 2? Well, it couldn't be much worse than the first one. What a sh*tty movie. Had so much potential.
