"Piranha 3" Casts Male LeadPosted: April 21st, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
It was recently reported that Elisabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas) has signed on as the female lead in the upcoming "Piranha 3-D" remake for director Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Mirrors).
Now, Moviehole has learned that Adam Scott (Step Brothers, Aviator, Knocked Up) will play the male lead. He will star as Novak, a diver for the US Geological Service who helps discover the piranha outbreak.
"[Piranha 3-D] should be fun, I love the original and the pedigree involved, [Joe] Dante, John Sayles," said Scott. "Alex is an amazing director and a such a cool guy, really looking forward to it."
"Piranha 3-D" is set in Lake Havasu, Arizona, where a tremor causes the lake's floor to open, setting free scores of prehistoric piranhas. It is scheduled to hit theaters on March 19th, 2010.

He was great in STEP BROTHERS, his improv on the DVD was on their level, he deserves to become part of Ferrell's ensemble. This movie sounds like shit. Let's just hope Aja doesn't tarnish Elizabeth Shue as much as he did Kathleen Quinlain. What's he got against actresses nominated for Oscars in 1995?

What the fuck? Dude needs to wait for a better pic then this to star as the lead. Talk about taking a chance with your career.

Are you all blid or what??? This guy's helmed two of the best horror pictures in the last 10 years: "Haute Tension" and the better-than-original "Hills haver eyes"... And "Mirrors" had this scene of Amy Smart's death that chilled me like a child, it was amazing!!! This new "Piranha" is gonna be a great, brutal and stilyzed 21st century horror pic. And don't worry about Shue and Scott, this will help their careers for sure (or didn't "Mirrors" help Sutherland's???)

Why not offer a part to Brad Pitt and Sean Penn while you are at it, have an ensemble cast with a shitty script!
