Chris Pine in Talks for "The A-Team"?

Chris Pine in Talks for "The A-Team"?Submit Comment
Chris Pine (Star Trek) was given his big break by Joe Carnahan (Narc) on "Smokin' Aces," and the two collaborated so well that Carnahan was willing to give Pine roles in all his future movies. After he set up "White Jazz" and "Killing Pablo," he immediately approached the actor for both. Unfortunately, Pine had to reject the offer due to an opportunity to play Captain Kirk on the big screen.

Now, Pine has revealed to MTV News that he is hoping that he can re-team with Carnahan again, on the upcoming "A-Team" film. "We've talked about it," he said. "I'd love to."

Pine also talked about which character he would like to play. Due to his good looks, one would expect him to get the L. Templeton "Faceman" Peck" role, but Pine is going in a different direction.

"No, Murdock is my man," he revealed, saying he wants to create a "Howling Mad" character along the same lines as the insane "Smokin' Aces" performance Carnahan steered him into. "I love Murdock."

Currently, the "A-Team" script is still being developed, but now that Pine is a big star, there is a good chance that he will be cast in the film. "We've talked about something happening," he added. "I don't think the script is quite done yet or something. But who knows?"

Does anyone else think that Woody Harrelson would be a better fit to play Murdock?

I can see him as Face. I always thought Steve Buscemi would be a great Murdock.

I'm not really sure why Chris Pine was even cast in Star Trek. Was it because of his amazing performance in that Lindsay Lohan movie? Carnahan needs to make the right decision and not cast Pine in The A-Team.

Did you not see Smoking Aces - he was great in that.

I did see Smokin' Aces, but I don't usually like things just because there is lots of shootings.

I've been wanting to make this movie for a long time. I hope they do not f*ck it up. Pine was great in smokin aces. I also like Johnny knoxville for murdock. How about clooney for hannibal? James marsden for face and busta rhymes for B.A.?

Dwight Shultz will always be murdock, however, Jim Carey wouldnt be such a bad idea.

I think 'defiant1' above nailed the Murdock casting call with: Steve Buscemi. Remember... the fast-talking, smart-ass, genius he played in Armageddon? The Psycho in Con-Air. Really... he's the best choice.
