Actor Michael Sheen is known for portraying the UK Prime Minister Tony Blair in "The Queen" and British talk-show host David Frost in the recent "Frost/Nixon." But fans know him best for his role as werewolf Lucian from the "Underworld" franchise.
Now, Sheen will go from playing a werewolf to a vampire in the upcoming "Twilight" sequel, called "New Moon." His character is Aro, the leader of an Italian vampire clan called the Volturi.
Director Chris Weitz confirmed the news to The Daily Mail today, saying that he aggressively pursued the actor. "Michael's role is so important because he's the head of all vampires," he said. "Aro is, on the surface, a very gracious and friendly vampire, but beneath that he is a tremendous threat."
"New Moon" is scheduled to hit theaters on November 20th.
