Warner Bros Warns Bollywood to NOT Remake "Benjamin Button"

Warner Bros Warns Bollywood to NOT Remake "Benjamin Button"Submit Comment
Bollywood producers are known for taking ideas from Hollywood films without any permission. That is slowly starting to change, but there are still many disputes regarding whether some Bollywood films are disregarding copyright issues or just using similar concepts.

The most recent dispute has been about "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," which resulted in Warner Bros running ads in local newspapers warning anyone looking to remake their film that they would face legal actions. And they are not just giving a general warning, there is already a "remake" in the works.

The name of the new Indian movie is "Action Replay," which revolves around a man who ages backwards from 62 years old to 26. Times of India revealed a bit of the plot: "From being a father, Akshay grows to be a fashionable young dude of the swinging 70s with bell bottoms and wide belts."

So while the two movies are not exactly the same, it seems strange that "Action Replay" went into production in March, just a few months after "Benjamin Button" was released. "Replay's" director is claiming that it's just a coincidence since he has never even seen "Benjamin Button."

Right, and I assume Volcano stole from Dante's Peak, and Armageddon stole from Deep Impact, and The Sopranos stole from Analyze This. Or maybe they just came out at the same time. How can WB say someone can't remake the movie when CCBB is a rip of Forrest Gump to begin with, and further more, is a F. Scott Fitzgerald story. WB doesn't have a leg to stand on.

"Right, and I assume Volcano stole from Dante's Peak, and Armageddon stole from Deep Impact" Weren't each pair of movies released fairly close to each other...kinda like how The Prestige and The Illusionist were?

Quarentine, anybody?? I doesn't matter if they "buy it" because they turned it into a sh*tty movie

That movie sounds more like the sh*tty Jennifer Garner piece of sh*tty, 13 Going on 30. Why the sh*t does Warner's give a sh*t? What a bunch of whiny little sh*ts.

Yeah...you need to see Benjamin Button to know that its about a guy that ages backward...WHO KNEW? lol Silly Indians thinking we havent already played the same dirty games...it's called a KNOCK OFF and they've been around for as long as "art" and "sh*t" have existed.

Perfect example of this is Asylum DVD releases: "I Am Omega, Transmorphers and, our favorite, The Da Vinci Treasure"...if these guys havent been sued Bollywood surely doesn't deserve to be.
