Judd Apatow Slices "Year One" into a PG-13 RatingSubmit Comment
Sony's "Year One," the new Jack Black comedy from producer Judd Apatow and director Harold Ramis, has been rated PG-13 after the filmmakers made some cuts to the film.

The MPAA's Classification and Rating Appeals Board on Tuesday upheld the R rating originally given to the movie in which Black and Michael Cera play a couple of barely out-of-the-cave men who travel through the ancient world.

Apatow and Ramis appeared before the board to argue for a more lenient rating, but the appeals board still opted for the R, which requires moviegoers younger than 17 be accompanied by an adult, because of "some sexual content and language."

The filmmakers then made cuts to the film, and as a result, the ratings board has now given it a PG-13 "for crude and sexual content throughout, brief strong language and comic violence."

Sony will release the film domestically on June 19th.

Sell out! That's what happens when you have an early summer release date. If this came out in the end of July or August I bet tey would have kept the R Rated cut. Looks like I am waiting for the Uncut Blu Ray.

Own the must see DVD of the year. Year One UNRATED. With all the raunchy caveman on caveman action you couldn't see in theaters.

I'll give it a shot anyway. Jack Black is spectaculary funny even in PG-13 films ("School of Rock"), and Michael Cera... ah, who am I kidding, he sucks d*ck. I'll see the film anyway.
