Michael Bay Reveals Robot's Death in "Transformers 2"

Posted: April 7th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Michael Bay Reveals RobotSubmit Comment
Michael Bay is not shy about showing the brutality of a war waged between giant robots in his "Transformers" franchise. In the first film, several characters met their end, and Bay plans to continue this trend in the sequel.

"You know what? I didn't like Arcee," he told MTV News. "So I kill her later." For those of you not familiar with Arcee, it is a pink Autobot that appears in the trailer (57 second mark) and is set to become the first female Transformer.

Bay said his reason for killing the robot is simple. He doesn't like it. "It's like actors," he explained. "There are certain actors that blossom on screen, and there are certain others where you're like, 'Yuck, I'm cutting them out of the movie.'"

Unlike some of the deaths in the first movie, Arcee will meet her doom without much emotion. "This isn't sad," said Bay. "This is just 'get it out and get it over with.'"

...and the misogyny on this site spreads all the way to robots. Well done fellas.

Bay stick to visuals and not anything related to story or emotions.

And there are certain directors who could squeeze a gold performance out of a rock while there are certain directors, Bay, who go, "Ew, yuck, this actor is poop. I'm going to kill them." If he can't even get a female robot to do what he wants, then no wonder I haven't seen a single memorable role from a female in any of his films. What an ass

The presence of this pink ill conceived slut was just brutal to look at...it was waaaaaaaay to cheesy to begin with. Yes...lets insert females so we'll have to start examining transformer romances...sorry but f*ck that- I'd watch General Hospital if I wanted to see robots kiss.

well there's already the female-terminator- type transformer in there....and there's gonna be a LOT of robots in this movie...so i don't blame him for doing what he did...i'm just waitin to see if we're all right about him presenting a way better movie this time

Here's some writer/director 101: any director can conceive of a character or a villain worth hating, but only a good director can conceive of a villain worthy of some empathy--look at Hitchc*ck's villains, Norman Bates for example. Bay is a hack. When he admits to hating characters in his own movies, it's his own fault. If he were a better director then he could humanize even the worst characters.

lol, I have to say it, wonderBoy that was awesome. And somebody needs to tell Bay that if you can't deal with so many characters you just think about it before start the damn film. They're not ants that you can just crush. Anyway, if Bay kills off Shia I won't even blink.

"This is just 'get it out and get it over with.'" - Like all Bay's characters on screen..

Arcee was a female Transformer in the animated film from the 80's. She wasn't a bike, but it wasn't like her presence ruined that film.

Michael Bay is an idiot by far.
