Man Commits Suicide During "Watchmen" Showing

Man Commits Suicide During "Watchmen" ShowingSubmit Comment
They say that there is no such thing as bad publicity. When movie-goers pass out during a showing of a movie, the studios spin that to say that the film is so scary and disturbing that you have to see it for yourself. But how do you spin it when an audience member shoots himself while watching your film?

KMTR is reporting that a man did exactly that at an Oregon theater during a midnight/Monday morning showing of "Watchmen." Police say that some of the patrons were in an auditorium at Regal Cinemas when they heard a "popping" noise like a gunshot.

When the manager/police went to investigate, they found a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head. None of the other audience members could have done anything to prevent this, since the closest person was sitting two rows away from him.

we may never know why .. unless, he thought that it sucked so bad and it was his favorite graphic novel .. idk .. or best thing he's ever seen and wanted to die happy .. lol

PrevalentMind writes:

The film is inconsequential. People kill themselves in public places because they felt alone to begin with. Cheesy way of puttin it maybe- but he wanted to do it, or else he wouldn't have picked an uncrowded theatre at a late time and chose a seat far away from anybody else to avoid discovery...

Everyone in here who made a "he killed himself because the movie was so bad" joke is a piece of sh*t AND has no taste in movies. I bet Adam Sandler comedies rank among your favorite movies, you simple-minded morons.

What I find appauling is that there was only 9 people left in the theater after this happend. Really people? Go see the movie.

Maybe he was a firm believer in the 2012 Apocalypse and thought he'd get a head start. I also wonder at what point he offed himself, hopefully after at least 1 of the sex scenes.
lost_addict writes:

no wonder.the movie has very negative resonance and very depressing, probably the man was already on the brink of killing himself, the movie just gave him the last push to do it.i really don't understand how can anyone said this is a good movie,it was simply a boring soap opera about the problems of wannabes super-heroes...actually only dr.manhattan was a super hero and he was a selfish feminine idiot...
vwkombi writes:
