"Wolverine" Leak Downloaded Over a Million Times

"Wolverine" Leak Downloaded Over a Million TimesSubmit Comment
As everyone knows by now, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" leaked online a whole three weeks before the theatrical premiere on May 1st. While 20th Century Fox is doing its best to get the stolen copies off the internet, TorrentFreak is reporting that the unfinished film has already been downloaded more than a million times by BitTorrent users.

"Wolverine" leads the site's weekly chart of the ten most downloaded movies on BitTorrent. It is also topping The Pirate Bay's Top 100 most popular torrents and is listed among the most popular search terms on other torrent sites.

In an attempt to keep the damage to a minimum, Fox has been sending out takedown notices to various torrent sites. Most site operators are kind enough to take down the links, but new ones are already uploaded before the requests are processed.

Interestingly, most people think that the leak will actually help the movie, as a poll among TorrentFreak readers indicates that 40% would be more excited to see it in the movie theater or on DVD, even if they had downloaded it. Only 6% of the respondents believe that the leak will be detrimental to the film's success.

Let's do our own poll. If you have seen the film already, are you planning to see it again in theaters or on DVD/Blu-ray?

That is a LOT of lost money, $10 average ticket price? $10,000,000! Wow, talk about the ultimate screw you to Fox. They will be getting my money and I think I will see it three times instead of the two that I was going to. Have to hook up Jackman, Reynolds, and the rest of the cast and crew.

well..i'm definitely not one to hurt fox's income...i haven't told anybody not to see it...was simply stating how i hated the way they did characters and changed things compared to the comics....but this event really doesn't matter...millions of more people will be dumb enough to watch it only to be disappointed....amazed...but still disappointed....besides...has anything like this ever hurt a movie in the past?....fox sucks...they're making this like it's bigger news than starving children or wars or the earth being in danger for all humans...geez

More at theghost: I remember 9/11. I was working several blocks away from the building and my shift was ending. My plan was to go down to the Twin Towers and buy some DVDs. There used to be a Sam Goody right below the buildings. 15 minutes before my shift ended, I felt the shockwave of the first plane impacting the Tower. Then, minutes later I watched the second one vaporize into the other. So, you tell me, what faith should I have in how long I'm going to be alive? Should I believe I'm going to live past this year? Past this night? How could anyone possibly know?

As much liberties as they took with the characters and screw with canon, I still thought it was a pretty decent movie. Its no Oscar winner, but a good film on its own. The thing I like/dislike about comics is they can change canon, sometimes for the better or sometimes it just ends up being stupid(Ben O'Reilly). Since I don;t know every single character and storyline in the Wolverine universe, its hard form me let alone the casual viewer to stop and go....well thats not right. Unless its something blatantly obvious. The only thing I didn't like about was Weapon XI. So I may go to the theaters, but I would certainly buy it on Blu-ray.

Luminus i have an answer for you....you should not give your future so much doubt...i've had more than just 1 puny close call...i've had several....any of us could die at any given time...but that doesn't mean you should think so lowly of your future...you only live once and if you're still alive...take pride in enjoying it...the bad things in this world suck, but that's no reason to think so lowly of life....i'm not happy with mine...but you don't see me giving up that easily....besides...God gave you a life to begin with...you should be more appreciative than negative...if you don't believe that, then i just feel sorry for you and hope that you'll believe it again someday...otherwise i have no other words of advice for you cuz that's the best answer i can come up with

Luminus....do you believe in the evolution theory?...and that there is no God?....i don't...do people have proof from back then that God didn't exist?....or today even?...don't think so...they found stuff in the red sea from moses' time about a year or so ago...they even found a stake that has the name 'yahweh' in hebrew language imprinted on it....so that sh*t really happened....they believed God existed then...so why not believe it today?...it's still a subject that exists today and isn't erased from our memories is it?....they even found noah's ark...so you could be wrong for all you know...i'm taking it simply from the bible...'do not become wise in your own eyes'...and that's what you seem to be doing...and also, it's not for mankind to decide how the world ends or when it ends...only God knows when and how...He says the end will happen 'like a thief in the night'...meaning no human knows when it will happen...just like fox didn't know somebody stole their copy of wolverine...take this saying for example....'satan's greatest trick was convincing mankind he didn't exist'...so...have i given you something to think about yet?...or are you gonna keep on viewing things based on what mankind thinks?....they've been saying the world would end so many times and yet have been proven wrong, world war I, world war II, 2000, and now it's 2012....for all we know...i think the end could happen anytime before or after that stupid date on 2012...aztecs predicted a lot of stuff that would happen even after 2012...and the mayans thought they were gods...so what does that tell you about mayans?...they were human and full of sh*t and worst of all, wise in their own eyes...granted i'm not a very goody two shoes religious boy lol...but i still keep my beliefs in God no matter how bad life gets...you don't have to believe anything i say...but just wanting to let you know what i think

I expected Wolverine to be a lot worse with all the changes and interference they made but it is good and think people should support the franchise and hope FOX get their act together.

At synthetic1985:

I’m already aware of your line of thinking as I’ve encountered it many times before. You use the word “believe” in the wrong capacity. Evolution theory is just as valid as the theory of gravity. The word theory, in its simplest science definition, means “best explanation.” Evolution itself, like gravity, is a fact.

As for any God described by humans, no such creature exists and it’s no surprise to me that you’re citing Judeo-Christian myth as your evidence. How convenient it is that you don’t believe in any of the thousands of other Gods that other people, who are as or more deeply devoted as you are, believe in. You’re playing favorites and it’s very transparent.

The only people who’ve been claiming that the world will end are theists and they’ve been wrong every single time. Yet, they continue. If you’re going to hand me cartoonish myths like Noah’s Ark and nonsensical “evidence” like a stake with the name “Yahweh” imprinted on as your evidence for an omnipotent Caucasian man-like creature, then what you’re thinking about doesn’t amount to very much. Nothing a few well-taught science and history courses and/or books won’t remedy. I’m betting that you won’t do that, though. PLEASE prove me wrong.

Hey MK ULTRA: This from a person who uses the word “emo” to describe a discussion that forces you to use your brain. All you did was call attention to how intellectually defunct your posts are. Frakkin Fail.

Thank you Luminus for all the illuminating words of wisdom. Unfortunately, a true dogmatic will never be able to see through the dark clouds of lies (in other words, religion). The opium of the people will never entirely vanish from the face of the earth, because for some people reason alone is not enough. To realize that life does not in fact have a higher purpose is not a simple thing to come to terms with for those convinced of the God delusion. As for the actual topic here, I have no intention of seeing the film at all. It have already wasted enough time and money on bad art.

Not. One. Bit. Also, the goal of science isn't to disprove religion, nor should it be on scientists shoulders to disprove claims made by religion. Science is a method for observing and gathering information in an attempt to explain things. It is up to religious people to prove what they believe is true. And to reiterate what Luminus said, evolution is FACT. It can be observed and has been. Synthetic, dude, your arguments are absolutely awful.

i was using logic and reasoning to prove him wrong....the bible is the oldest human and scientific book in history right?....SO....the people who wrote in it, 40 or more, must have seen and heard things through their eyes and ears and not only wrote some of their experiences....they have written things that were before...and things that would happen after, like in our time today, all inspired of God...God didn't tell them to write it...it was inspiration...people have been using it to guide them living a somewhat happy life in this cruel world...and lots of those prophecies have been coming true so far and more have yet to be fulfilled....so how can you non-believers believe God doesn't exist?...have you seen the proof for yourselves?...or do you believe other imperfect humans and their 'scientific' facts?....maybe if you were a PERFECT human, i would have believed those who were against me on it...but nobody is perfect...so for humans to think there is no God or think they are 'above' God is just wrong to me...think i made my point now

and no...being negative has nothing to do with being atheist....when he said 'What in the world makes you think tomorrow isn't that day?'....i was gonna say, what in the world makes you think tomorrow IS that day?....cuz those words sound like someone is living WAY too cautiously...yea life is full of danger...but that's no reason to live overly cautiously...bad sh*t happens all the time and there's nothing we can do to stop it....we can always take steps to avoid some...but we can't stop it altogether....and take human emotion for example....can science measure how much love a couple has for each other?...don't think so...and quoting T4 'humans have a strength that no machine can measure' or sumthin like that....it's more than enough logic and reason to prove all my points

Man if I wasn;t so drunk I would be all over this..........for the record The Bible is fiction. It is an account of what man thought at the time. Much like philosophy and psychology is. The bible bases its message on moral ground. Civilization is more than a couple thousand years old. Basing an entire religion on a book that seemed to centeer the feelings of what was at that time a generation, seems silly. Are you going to bas all your ideas on a best selling book, just cuz its popular? You becoming a vampire? You going to go and seek out all the hidden clues in paintings? NO oofense to anyone....seriously.....no offense.....but the bible is the equilvalent of the government now...but then. More manipulative than you think.

"i was using logic and reasoning to prove him wrong....the bible is the oldest human and scientific book in history right?" f*ck no. Man...definitely not. Not only is it not scientific in the SLIGHTEST, but it's not even the oldest book in history. Honestly, are you remotely serious? Once again, the goal of science is NOT to disprove the existence of God, but rather, explain how things are the way they are. Religion doesn't try to explain anything; it just gets by on having obsequious followers that are satisfied with the answer "God did it." Case in point, you say you believe in God because things have happened that you can't explain. That's weak. I'm sure wind didn't have an explanation outside of "God did it" a thousand years ago, but thanks to science, we can actually explain it. Just because something can't be explained, doesn't mean it won't be explainable eventually. Lastly, what the f*ck are you smoking saying that believing in God has never caused harm? Cough*The f*cking Crusades*cough. Honestly, how many wars, mow much genocide and hate is the result of religion? Mother f*cking tons. I know I already said "lastly," but one more thing, you speak of logic and reason, but you haven't presented a single logical point. Everything you've said has basically spit in the face of reason. It's not your fault though, religion has done this to you.

haha ok whatever...nothing you guys say is gonna change my beliefs...just like what i'm saying isn't gonna change any of yours...we all have free will...and we're all not perfect...otherwise, why else haven't we discovered everything about everything?....surely mankind would have done so by then if we were ever so smart...and besides...religion doesn't take your money...people do....there are so many different translations of bibles that it's no easy task to figure out which one is right or which religion is right...but honestly...i have nothing else to hope for...except God....so if you guys don't believe any religion at all or that God doesn't exist...might as well think twice before you guys say things like 'thank God for (whatever the case)'

and when i say what harm has it caused, i meant what harm has it caused you?...maybe it was the wrong religion...you don't know....just because wars broke out over it doesn't mean God made it happen did it?...think common sense...we being humans are the ones capable of war or hate...and that was already going on before people started believing in God again...and i'm sorry...but science doesn't prove everything....scientists have been wrong before...and just because they think they can explain everything doesn't mean it's true...cuz for one well scientists don't have full use of their brain...and also i wasn't saying science tries to prove the bible wrong...i said NON-BELIEVERS use science to prove it wrong...and the best part about religions that are more true?...they aren't as harsh as the government...they don't tax you or convince you to waste your money on their products...only bad ones do such things...like i said before...there's only 2 kinds of people...believers and non-believers of God....plain and simple and logical as it gets...there is no neutral just us.....that's like if if a magnet had a neutral side....sure atoms have neutrons...but if that's the case...we as humans are the 'neutral' cuz we can side with either the positive or the negative....we either choose to be good or choose to be bad...there is no in between....so like i said before...you don't have to believe a word i say....i'm just telling you what i think...but you guys still try to prove me wrong...it's not gonna change my beliefs
synthetic1985 writes:

to be even more logical...how can scientists eventually explain everything if mankind keeps getting wiped out?....they have to start all over again, and would be where we are now or either get wiped out before or after.....but mankind will not live long enough to explain all those things...see my point?
synthetic1985 writes:

one more thing....if God doesn't exist as some of you heavily claim...then why does He exist through people today?....same goes for the right religion, but which one is the tricky part...i don't believe in the Trinity either...i don't think Jesus, and God, and the Holy Spirit are all one of the same thing....why the hell would Jesus be talking about himself when he says 'Father'?...if that makes any sense, then it's logical enough to prove the Trinity wrong
synthetic1985 writes:

one reason i don't believe scientists so much is because they said an asteriod the size of texas was supposed to crash into the earth in feb 2005...it never did...they said all electricity would go out in the millennium...it never did....so i'm just wondering why you non-believers heavily buy into what science has to offer...they can't eventually explain how the universe was formed or how the earth was formed can they?...nor can they create life or bring people back from the dead...i do believe things will be explained eventually...but not from mankind obviously
synthetic1985 writes:

for the best logical explanation....mankind has been proven wrong over and over in the past...and still has been today...so just out of curiosity, what makes you guys think that you're right this time?...is it because we know more now than we did 100 years ago?...that wouldn't change anything....if the red sea was opened via nuclear energy...don't you think those people would have been vaporized?...cuz that just sounds dumb what scientists said...unless the one controlling the nuclear energy was God...that's the best answer i can come up with...many people even in the future, if there is one for us, will still keep their beliefs about God...no matter how advanced science gets...which i'm sure believers are very well aware of....and why is that you guys have to see something out of the ordinary to accept that God is real?...that's just bullsh*t...anything out of the ordinary such as ufos or aliens or no God or no satan is basically satan f*cking with you....when you say you don't believe in either God nor satan...the 'non-believer of God' still applies to that

Again I am drunk or I would so be all over this............synthetic I know what you are saying..........I respect your opinion and trust you believe in what you believe........faith is more powerful than religion.............but at some point you have to ask yourself why have I placed so much faith in an idea that ws created by man to understand himself.......his nature and where he comes from? Man did not walk out of the stone age and say "hey, we can manipulate people into what we think is a good idea". Again I say civilization is older than previoulsy thought.

well of course....man did create religion, not God...but that doesn't mean God doesn't exist though...it's because of man, religion was originally supposed to be a way of staying in touch with God in some way shape or form as well as staying faithful....but then man started making many more religions and false gods that didn't even exist...and like i said before...there are so many out there it's very hard to tell which one is right...i'm not saying you should be in a religion if you aren't...i'm just saying what people should do is be a good person for the most part and decide which is the best direction for them to take...i'm not a rich person at the very least bit...i'm very poor actually...and also as i said before...what other hope can you guys place faith in that is any better?...just think about it....and also i don't heavily put so much faith into my religion...i don't always go to church...but i still keep my beliefs regardless of all the bad i do...and i've met many who have never had a religion before that have one now...it's not like believing in God is gonna result in someone killing you instantly...of course you'll be prosecuted for it like many faithful ones back then were...but honestly nobody knows...i could be wrong...all i can say is this cruel world will end soon, and it's only a matter of time

"what harm can believing in god cause?" used as an argument that you basically have nothing to lose so f*ck it, believe in god. wow. believing in god can cause a lot of harm. first off, religion is nothing more than basically a crutch for people to lean on. emotinally damaged people and lonely folk and what not "find god" to fill the void in their lives. but the harm it can cause is it tends to give them the mindset of "everything is in gods hands" thus disassociating themselves from crucial modern issues. oh, nuclear warfare is a huge threat that could destroy the whole world, no worries, its all in gods hands. pollution is destroying the very world we know, no worries, its all in gods hands. 9/11 was a direct result of religion. not judeo-christianity, but instead islam, which is just a variation on the same religion that catholicism, christianity, mormonism, and so on all come from. so the statement "what harm can believing in god cause?" is quite frankly BULLsh*t.

But still, They're not going to change the basic storyline (which sucked balls). Ill see it when it comes to dvd at a friend's house.

well you guys seem to understand logics...considering that believing in God really doesn't do any harm at all...but when people take action and hurt one another...that's a different story....so basically what i said was true...it does no harm...but when you fight others based on your beliefs...well, the believing part doesn't greenlight the harm does it?...taking action on fighting someone over it does...and just because you say 9/11 happened because of religion is bullsh*t....i heard the cops let this guy in a wheelchair, that couldn't fit through metal scanners, in without checking the wheelchair....which happened to have box knives in it...so whose fault was that really?....religion?...or stupid security guards not doing their jobs?....and that doesn't mean that EVERYTHING is in God's hands nor did i say those exact words did i?...once again...satan's greatest trick was convincing mankind he didn't exist....at least some people on this site were understanding of what i was trying to say...i didn't mean for this to turn into a religious argument lol...just wanted to give some friendly advice...but i guess i'm just worthless for what i think huh?...and btw i wasn't emotionally broken or anything like that before i started believing in God....like i said before...what else do you guys have left to hope for?....cuz i don't see anything else that's promising
synthetic1985 writes:

then again...i guess it's ok to believe in other things now like science...which happened to invent the nuclear bomb and the atom bomb and the hydrogen bomb which is harmful to many....so what makes that any better?...i'm just trying to think logically here...and as i said before...you guys can say what you want...but it doesn't change what i think....just like what i'm saying isn't gonna change what you think right?

God is an excuse for ignorance... The Bible isn't the oldest book and definitely not the oldest religious text, and evolution is NOT a theory... It's a measurable FACT... And Wolverine was much more entertaining with wire frame graphics and safety harnesses.

shteak....like i said before...you can say what you want...doesn't change my beliefs...plenty of others on here are thinking the exact same thing as you...no need to add to it...and as for 'evolution'...i'll believe it's a fact....but who is responsible for the evolution?...anybody think about that?...i know mankind didn't do it and we didn't just come out of thin air....and if you guys seriously believe that, then what's the point of living?...after you die, you believe that's the end...i don't...so once again i'm stopping replying on this subject now....anybody else wanna try to change my mind?....cuz it's not working...i hope whoever reads this one gets that clearly in their head

Sorry dude... I wasn't getting at you, i'm just getting slightly annoyed at the whole religious "comeback" era that we're all going through right now... You have the right to believe what you want as far as i'm concerned... But, i do think that people should alsotry to understand the world better, rather than just put "god" up for the answer to anything that science hasn't answered yet... God used to make the sun rise in the morning... Now we know better, even though some "Tribes" still apparently believe so, Faithfully! Now people use god as an explanation for every hole in scientific theory... It's only human. I wonder if anyone who believes in intelligent design or the lack of evedence for evolution has ever bothered to look it up and try to understand it? And anyone who believes in Adam and Eve really should be shot... Sorry again.
synthetic1985 writes:

it's quite alright...sorry i snapped too...i just don't believe that God isn't real....and what i said about God being an 'alien' in the sense that heaven isn't part of the earth could be a scientific way of looking at it...maybe it's all 4th dimensional stuff and we simply can't see it...but i'm not gonna try to find out for myself because things have yet to be explained anyway, and they say we're not supposed to look too deep into that....and the way science is evolving, mankind keeps getting wiped out and having to start from sctrach again, not enabling us to further us to the point where everything of everything could be explained...and regardless of all things that happen or are discovered, what do they tell us that we should do?...keep faith in God right?...people in my religion say that God is ruler of the whole universe...so if that's true, maybe that's the reason we have no accurate proof of aliens or ghosts yet...i mean after all, the advancement in science surely would have discovered something by then don't you think?
synthetic1985 writes:

i'm also using logic and reason to prove why i think evolution is false with a simple question....how can we evolve from a single cell organism if there was none to begin with?
synthetic1985 writes:
on April 8th, 2009 at 5:28:03 PM

to put it even more vividly...if we evolved from a single cell organism, then how can a single cell evolve on its own?...it can't possibly be from chemical balances or imbalances....just doesn't make any sense to me...anybody see my point there?....when a body is burnt completely what does it turn into?...dust right?...and God says we were made of dust...so that's a logical enough explanation for me

Surly the size of the universe is proof enough that if their were a god, he wouldn't be aware of us in any way? And the whole "god controls the universe" thing annoys me too... I thought that being omnipotent and omniscient meant that nothing is out of your knowledge or control, yet theism relies on god doing some awful things to people who really dont deserve it, and that satan(not a god) has some sort of superpower that god can't deal with... Really bugs me.
