Robert Downey Jr is Beefing Up for "Iron Man 2"Submit Comment
Tony Stark is getting ready to start shooting the "Iron Man" sequel on Monday and is currently in the process of bulking up after slimming down for "Sherlock Holmes." He sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss the story and give us an updated on Scarlett Johansson.

"The film is almost entirely about character, and yet we still have twice as much action as we did last time, so it's going to be nuts," said Downey. "Essentially 'Iron Man 2' is about looking behind the armor, or the armature, of a superhero. It's one thing to say you're Iron Man, it's another thing to be fully ready to do that."

He said that he's no longer on his strict "Sherlock Holmes" diet. "I'm on Beefcake Charlie status," he jokes. "I've got to not be the skinny Brit anymore. I have to be the Tony that you know and may have loved."

As for co-star Scarlett Johansson, who plays the femme fatale Black Widow in the sequel, Downey says, "We've been rehearsing and she's in insane shape. She's getting lean and mean."

it's a pity that the 1st one couldn't have as much action...not that i'm against it...but i'm gettin tired of seein comic book adaptations only having 1 villian in its first movie

I read a story that said she is being trained by the same guy that trained her husband for Trinity and Origins and that she is on an extreme diet. Glad to see she's taking the role seriously. Also the story should read that he HAS bulked up again. He isn't going to put on 20 pounds of muscle over the weekend, hahaha.

synthetic1985 - And I'm getting tired of listening to people bitch that there should be more villains in comic books movies. It just doesn't work. It's been proven time and time again.

There is only 1 villain in the first movies because they're busy taking the time to develop the origin of the character. Not everyone is familiar with all of these origins (from the comics) so they must be established. As for Downey 'bulking up'... I crap bigger than that pencil neck... lol (and please... no: 'It's because you're full of sh*t Ranger' comments... please).
