Michael Caine on "The Dark Knight" SequelSubmit Comment
During the press junket for "Is Anybody There," Collider had the chance to speak to Michael Caine about a potential third Batman movie, which according to Caine is "quite a long way away."

He added that he originally signed on for three Batman movie, but all the waiting in between films is not making him any younger. "I hope I'm still alive," said the 76-year-old Caine. "Michael Gough, who played [Alfred] in Batman before me. The last time he played in Batman he was 84."

Back in September, Caine mentioned that he spoke with a Warner Bros executive, who told him that the studio is planning to cast Johnny Depp as The Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin. In separate interviews, Depp said that he would love to come on as The Riddler, while Hoffman rejected the idea of making a big-budget superhero film.

So who does Caine think the villain will be now? "That would be probably The Riddler," he said.

the dark knight made so much money with heath ledgers performance as the joker. if they casted johnny depp as the riddler, and his performance was just as good or better than heath's, then I could imagine how much the sequel to the dark knight would make. johnny depp is awesome and im sure he'd do aawsome job as the riddler if they casted him. a mix of his willy wonka and sweeney todd.

FOR f*ck SAKE why is everyone banging on about johnny depp for...keep him far away from the batman franchise please....i keep saying i would rather have DANIEL DAY LEWIS any day of the week over johnny depp...plus it wouldnt be a penguin like in the tim burton film he wudlnt have flipper hands n stuff lol a see him as a weapons dealer gangster type who is nicknamed the penguin

They do need to hurry, but at the same time quality should come first.

i heard a rumor, not sure if its true, but is christain bale really getting replaced? anyone know. this cant happen! he is the best batman ever

I think the Penguin will be a new mob boss that fill in the power vacuum that was created by Joker in Dark Knight... And he would hire Riddler to get rid of the Batman.

With leezy84 on this one. Daniel Day Lewis would kick some serious ass as the Riddler. He's one of the best actors in Hollywood and I'd like to see him in this type of movie.

The is 0% chance that DDL would ever even consider doing a super hero movie as good as the first two batmans were. Grow up peter pan.

wtf hawk super hero movie...guess wot peter pan batman aint a super hero ... he wudnt consider a sequel to a film tht received oscars plus he was a close freind to heath ledger so y not honour him as a role as a villain anything is possible if the moneys right ur a douchebag
