Zack Snyder Finds "Sucker Punch" LeadPosted: March 30th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
It was recently reported that Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia!) had to drop out of Zack Snyder's R-rated film "Sucker Punch," due to her commitments to HBO's "Big Love." As a result, Snyder was forced to find a replacement.
Now, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Emily Browning (The Uninvited) will take over for Seyfried as Baby Doll, a young woman who has been committed to an insane asylum and fantasizes about escaping with the help of her fellow inmates.
Evan Rachel Wood (The Wrestler), Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical), Abbie Cornish (Stop-Loss), and Emma Stone (The House Bunny) are all still in talks to co-star in the film. Snyder is planning to begin shooting this fall with a goal of releasing the movie in theaters on October 8th, 2010.

Vanessa Hudgens in an R-rated movie. I doubt it. Andrew Caldwell ("Hannah Montana") got bad word of mouth for his performances in "College" and "Miss March" (well, they were lousy National Lampoon wannabes). And Vanessa's kinda dumb, from what I heard. Quote from theagonybooth: "I saw Vanessa on Leno the other night, and I'm afraid the girl does not have one single interesting thought in her head. She is tabula rasa. The closest we could ever get to intentionally producing someone like her is to let a girl be raised in the wilderness by wolves. Believe me, if Vanessa spoke in Nellish that would actually make her slightly more coherent." In other words: another Disney actor/actress hired for his/her looks than talent.

I was disappointed when Amanda dropped out, but this gives me hope.. Browing did an outstanding job in Series of Unfortunate Events, and she's turned out to be a very talented (and beautiful) actress.

She's a great choice since in her last film she was in a MENTAL asylum!....And she's really pretty and sure does look like a "Babydoll"
